Mods that Make Joja an Actual Threat – Stardew Valley

I literally always go the joja route for the auto petter

I always thought that Joja would try to do something against the player or Pierre, since in one of the dialogues of Lewis says that the impact of the farm is befict to the villagers and always thought that Morris would visit you at yor farm or try to sabotage you by selling seeds to a lower price or something, but no he's just there existing and ignoring everyone else.

I figured shane would like joja bluu in that mod since the heart event with clint and emily is an ad for joja bluu XD

It would be neat if you tried to turn Joja crops into seeds it would either not let you, or incur some other kind of reprisal, a la Monsanto.

May be more "realistic", but a lot of us love this game, because it's different from reality and slave driver companies won't win all the time…

If you live in a farming xommunity you will know the local stuff is cheaper and better quality.

I love the more joja cola mod, first one I installed from the bunch

Mod Idea:
– Actual Membership
So instead of just paying them money to rebuild stuff everything you purchase from their store adds up to the totals
– At the last day of each season all seasonal items are discounted by a large amount
– Joja has a different discount items every week that are significantly cheaper than Pierre's and you can check them via the telephone as well (I'd say generally the prices for other items are higher tho. Otherwise there would be no incentive to buy at Pierre's)
– Joja same day delivery
After aquiring a certain membership level Joja will offer delivery for members. You can order via the phone and it will arrive in your mailbox within the next 1-2h.
– Also like the idea of Joja seeds but I feel they're missing a catch
I'd say they're cheaper, grow in more seasons and grow faster, but they will never be better than silver quality max. Also maybe some stuff that is also a favored gift becomes just liked or normal if it's Joja
– Once a year Joja has their own event in town aka an anniversary in the season you completed the warehouse
– You can marry Morris and your farm becomes mansion with lots of space and interesting stuff, but all your animals and everything you build will be removed. You gain big amounts of money daily but you can only plant anything in the greenhouse
Also your grandpa will haunt you once a year.
And maybe with that you can visit the city?

The fruit from the Joja seeds sell for less money, but for cheaper seeds, it might still get the same profit? I haven't exactly done the math for it, but that's something to keep in mind.

I feel like the problem with modding this in is that it's no longer are natural choice/decision you'll have to make.

I have an idea years ago that Stardew Valley’s ads and marketing should’ve framed a Joja as the good corporation. Or at least showing a joja playthrough. That way, it creates a sort of brand recognition that the protagonist would likely already have.

So zero mods that actually turn Joja into a threat, nice lies video. Threat means a threat of closing Pierre store and collapsing valley economy, maybe even locking out player from some world areas due to restricted Joja zones, forcing some NPC to leave valley entirely. An increase in pollution and garbage in ocean, fish price reduction – that would be threat.

None of these actually make it harder to ignore Joja though. Pierre needs a price increase to blanace this out.

honestly the joja crops giving more stats makes no sense. if anything they should give less stats but be faster to grow

And besides, you get still have both stores and the reward for completing the community center is a disappointment..

stardew is unrealistic because it's a small town in western washington and nobody is on herioin, you can be gay without having your teeth knocked in, and demetrius and robin weren't lynched for miscegenation.

This Joja mod are huge buff for Joja Mart + Cola
Dev should add this feature, screw Pierre I want support Joja

The fact the Cafe Joja mentions cold-brew drinkers and it gives +2 speed makes me think of the queer stereotype that The Gays™ love iced coffee and speedwalk everywhere (I'm more of a "tea and laze about" kinda queer, but that's just me).

I just noticed the Store sign says "Joja Corn" instead of Joja Cola…
