Who is your favorite person in Stardew Valley to befriend, and why?
the max friendship you can get in 7 days is probley clint 3 gift + winter star gift + birthday gift + 2 liked movies + 2 loved Concessions
Recently, I had a quest to give Evelyn a sea cucumber. I misread the quest and gave her a super cucumber. I think it was good quality. This counted as a gift. Evelyn hated it so much I lost an entire heart with her
Meanwhile, Alex is still the most annoying villager to befriend, since he either wants all of your animal produce for breakfast or a dish that can only be cooked in the Fall.
For the Luau, I always use Gold Quality Super Cucumber.
It can be caught every day at night during the summer (you can catch it the night before) and always ensures the best outcome.
Since your fishing level is likely to be high by Summer (Fishing is the best way to make money unless you're doing the Tea Saplings or something), they shouldn't be too difficult to catch.

You only get +10 if you talk to villagers while they're doing stuff. Some villagers are in the middle of activites during festivals – like Emily who is lost to the dance at the Luau. Do you know if it's still +10 in these instances? I wouldn't be surprised if you get the full boost at fesivals regardless since it was orignally +0 to chat

A minor thing to point out: Sam hates all mayonnaise EXCEPT for Dinosaur Mayonnaise. Granted, that has much better uses than as a gift, so it's unlikely to ever come up, but still.

Everyone else hates the friendship mechanic, but I just would give gifts on specific days and it fell into my schedule. I got 10 hearts with everyone before Ginger Island opened (though, to be fair, I was very slow on the CC because I'm bad at fishing)
3 years in and I don’t have more than 2 hearts with any villager. I hate the town, I hate the people, I hate dealing with them. They are literally shops to me and nothing else. Capitalism above all.
