  1. I might have missed it, but blobfish ponds have a rare drop like the spook fish and rainbow trout. In this case it's a pearl, which is worth a lot and a universally loved gift.

  2. I just wanna say ty so much bc I'm tired of trying to get dragon teeth and cinder shards and a few other items. I hate going to skull caverns as well so I'm gonna just rearrange my farm real quick. Lol

  3. I absolutely adore your videos. They have been so extremely helpful for me since I am a fairly new player. I also love your dry sense of humor throughout the videos. 😂

  4. Just a few more tips about fish ponds: the profit of lava eels and blobfish roe is actually very similar because the blobfish have a much higher chance to give you 2 row than the lava eels. If you don’t want red ponds everywhere then go with blobfish. They also produce pearls and farm warp totems, too!

A lot of fish ponds have similar rates for the loot at population 9 and population 10. You can actually gain more money from these ponds by catching 1 fish to sell when it gets to population 10. With the angler perk this gives 1075g perk lava eel and 750 per blobfish. Blobfish might seem worse then but they respawn 1 day faster than lava eels (every 4 days vs 5 days) so again the profit is similar.

Some fish ponds have noticeably better produce rates at population 10 vs 9 so catching them as they get to population 10 to sell the extra fish isn’t worth it. Look up the differences on the stardew wiki. An example is surgeonfish which gets an whole 25% chance to spawn 2 row at population 10 that isn’t there at population 9. This also isn’t worth it on less populous fish that you really want that extra 1 or 2% chance to get that unique drop from. I use Lingcod to get bug meat and it just keep it at population 10 for the small extra chance to get that sweet 20 bug meat for wild bait.

  5. It’s so funny the legendary fish won’t live in a pond but will go in a smaller tank. I know it’s just so you can’t have more than one, but the concept is funny.

  6. >tiny chance that rainbow trout can produce prismatic shard
    >the odds are so unlikely it will probably never happen

    >proceeds to gather 4 (FOUR) prismatic shards
    🤔🤔🤔

  7. I found that all these "rare" items you get from some fish are indeed coming so rarely, you can go whole seasons or even years of a fully upgraded pond without getting any. Every single one of these items is a LOT easier and more reliable to get elsewhere. In practical terms, ponds are pretty much useless for these, unless you're using a mod that increases the chances.

  8. After playing this game for a couple of weeks, I finally realized that fish ponds could be a good way to play this game. I first noticed this because of caviar of the missing bundle of Joja. Now, I am going to do more research on fish ponds after finishing my grandpa evaluation by the end of my second year.
