  1. restoration pots are really useful before you have readily available access to greater healing potions, as their 90HP healed every 45 sec is significantly more HP per second healed on average than a normal healing potion at 100HP every 60 sec. they fall off lategame, sure, but they're invaluable for prehardmode imo. tl;dr L restoration potion take

  2. Isn’t restoration the potion that gives 90 health and a lower potion cooldown? I pretty often find myself using them if I get them early enough or if the better potions are in fewer quantities

  3. Restoration potions give 120 health per minute on average, whilst your healing pot gives 100 a minute and your honeyfin gives the same 120 a minute with honey buff, but no one is fishing for them unless you’re beating like legendary mode WoF

  4. I have a huge problem with gender change. First off, it’s almost useless. Second, if a kid plays terraria and sees that potion, he might become gay or whatever and then, it’s all downhill from there

  5. Combining restoration potion with philosopher's stone is absolutly goated for tanks. Whats the point of drinking 150 hp when you're only taking 90 damage every 30 seconds?

  6. The restoration potion is, while harder to get, also 20% more effective than normal healing potions.

Healing potion: 100 every 60 seconds.
    100/60 = 1.66 HP/s

Restoration potion: 90 every 45 seconds.
    90/45 = 2 HP/s

    (2-1.66)/1.66 * 100 is 20.
Restoration potions are 1.2x better than healing potions.

Edit: Honeyfins – obtained from fishing in honey – are just as effective as restoration potions, healing 120 health every 60 seconds, or 2HP/s.

  7. How does someone have so many wrong takes in a yt short even? Ok, invisibility reduces aggro and spawnrates, making them great for fishing and mining or if you don't want to deal with a blood moon (when combined with the peace candle, sunflower, and calming potion).
He says restoration potions are bad and nobody uses then, both lies. My guy, the reduced cooldown makes it heal more health overtime than the normal healing potions. Honeyfin is still the best phm because the honey regen buff it gives, but still…
He says mining potion are good, which is true, but he proceeds to use a DRILL to mine. Y'know, the mining tool that doesn't benifit from mining speed bonuses? Grnder change potions are really niche, but combined with the stylist and dresser, allow you to completly remake a character while keeping its stats (max mana/hp, permabuffs from shimmered items).
Last thing is that he screwed up is placing battle potions so low. Any terraria veteran whose grinded for rare drops and bestiary entries knows that the battle porion is a godsend, belongs in S tier 100%

It's almost like he looked at the wiki and a few videos without playing the game extensively DESPITE the footage he shows.

(Sorry for that rant it's just a bit irritating)

  8. If you can get a ton of strange brew or restoration potion since it gives some mana it works with mana flower effectively meaning if you are a mage using a high mana item you are actively healing yourself without cooldown

  9. as someone who has played Terraria in a plethora of difficult ways i can say the restoration potion is very underrated, being a very good option for WoF and even mech bosses with it's 45s cooldown and 90 heal.
