As it turns out, those “clay balls” are baby chickens. No clue why their sprite was substituted by a clay ball, or why its so far away from the actual hitbox, but one popped out when I threw an egg, and I could hit it, so it clearly is a baby chicken, even if Jade doesn’t say anything on what it is.
