I personally do not love the majority of the characters. I’ll always befriend George, Sebastian, Linus and Krobus, but I don’t bother with anybody else. In comparison to other games of the genre, I just don’t find Stardew characters to be super likable.

I once suggested that Lewis had slept with most of the older ladies in town and that’s why he was trying to keep his relationship with the Marnie secret. He’s penny’s father! He’s Abigail’s father! He’s the reason Hayley’s parents are gone- he slept with the mom and they’re on a “get our relationship back in order” cruise. He’s probably Jas’s dad too!

THE WIZARD does not appear in your dreams. He just sends you a letter like a normal person. The one character actually shown to have viable magical powers and actually seems aware of real magical happenings around the valley (Like the Dwarf/Shadow Wars or Junimos).
Emily is as magical as a new age witch on Tumblr, not actually magical.

I’m not really overly invested in any of the characters. I’m on Year 3, haven’t reached full hearts with anyone and just focusing on my farm. So, I don’t get a lot of the hate for certain characters but I just don’t spend a lot of time with them either haha.

Morris isn’t actually that bad of a character.
He comes across as a guy in a tough spot. He’s a regular person with a job who hasn’t been able to escape the Joja Hellscape like the Player Character did.
Morris has personal differences with Pierre, which leads to an unhealthy rivalry. In this case though, who **honestly** likes Pierre all that much?
Morris seems to have enthusiastic company loyalty and will do whatever is asked of him by Joja, which I would imagine he thinks will get him a promotion and maybe a bigger paycheck.
I always get the impression that Morris is more like many of us are IRL – inexplicably tied to a system that he doesn’t feel empowered to stop in any way, and just trying to survive.
Unfortunately for Morris, most players view him as the corporation he works for instead of just a guy with a job doing what he can to pay the bills for himself.

I think the horse is better for just having it then riding it because when the MC rides it, it doesn’t look good. Like, your character is too big for it.
I also think Ginger Island and and the Expanded mod are unnecessary additions to the game. I think the game is fine without them. (I like Ginger Island, but it feels like too much content just like Expanded.)

Maru, Sam, Alex, and Abigail (and any other character that gets this sort of treatment) are NOT too young to get married. I’m so tired of seeing people saying they’re too teenage-coded for marriage in the game or that they’re intended solely for younger players to pair up with in-game. If they weren’t old enough to get married, they wouldn’t be viable marriage candidates.

The way some people talk about shane is so disgusting. Like, im sorry that the guy who is suicidal and dealing with heavy addiction isnt too keen on making long lasting friendships when you first meet him. Dont even get me started on how some people call him “selfish” and try to say he isnt “deserving of love” all because he went through a rough period where he almost died.
This isn’t to say people cant dislike him, but god do some sound so apathetic and insensitive when talking about him :/

Shane is way over hated by the community. tbh most clearly just never befriended him or saw his story arc cause they’ll excuse other characters’ rudeness when they don’t even have a reason for it, unlike shane.
i’ve seen such people say horrible things about shane/anyone who likes him like i hope to yoba they don’t have any suicidal/depressed friends 😬
