Terraria’s Endgame is MID

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the channel. Today, we’re diving into why Terraria’s endgame needs some fixing. Ever wonder why Terraria is so popular? Is it the vast variety of weapons, the smooth progression, or the creativity in every playthrough? I personally love the progression, how you start poking a slime and end up defeating a god. But let’s talk about the endgame… which, in my opinion, is a bit meh. Remember to leave a like if you enjoy the video!

  1. I agree but I have some notes
4:30 the lifeforce potion already does this. It increases max health by 20%, and having 2 potions that do this could be a little too op.
While I agree with your statement I feel like a lot of players whoโ€™ve never played Terraria will likely explore and play the events and not try to immediately progress through the game and beat Moon Lord.
There should definitely be some more boss drops that can be crafted into weapons, consumables, accessories, armors, etcetera.
At the end of the day it just depends of the type of player, whether you want to immediately progress through the game or explore and experience.

  2. I find by the time I get to or around golem progression I tend to ignore a lot of the optional content as the cultist is right after which gives you access to the best gear in the game. Stuff like the new invasions and bosses become kind of obsolete because you can get better stuff a lot quicker and easier by speeding through the rest of the game which is sad cus the optional content has a lot of charm with it. If they made them accessible mid-hardmode and adjusted enemy/boss stats to compensate that might help but idk

  3. i dont like terraria endgame its basiacally just a boss rush after golem especially if oyu play with mods that add post moon lord bosses i like the exploration part combined with the bosses just doing bosses is boring as heck

  4. After Plantera everything just kinda falls apart.
I feel like the game is just boss fights after WOF, and that kinda sucks.
Because there is so much to do before hardmode.
They need to open up a new biome or have a new structure after Golem.
OR! Now hear me out, or they make the Golem temple as big as the dungeon and add more enemies and stuff.
The sky and ocean are so empty, if something opened up there after Golem it would be really cool.
Because it would slow down the rampage of boss slaughter.
Bosses lose impact when you spam them.

  5. One of my ideas recently would be to maybe make the Lunatic Cultists enemies you kill before he spawns genuine enemies in the dungeon, and you can get something to summon him if enough are killed

And when you kill him instead of all the pillars spawning all at once, you get one pillar each day near your spawn, to build extra suspense towards the moon lordโ€™s approach and make sure youโ€™re actually fully prepared for the fight.

  6. I find that the entire problem is the pillar weapons. The pillar weapons damn near tirvialize the Moon Lord, who's supposed to be extremely challenging. They're also just boring. ohhh it's a generic weapon type, but BLUE. So cool. Make the pillar fragments used for something else. Remove the luminite from the wings recipe. Maybe make some super extreme buff potion out of them that only works during celestial events. Do something instead of weapons. It incentivizes the player to actually seek out the awesome weapons from the events and bosses. Like you said, why would I grind the Frost Moon for a Chain Gun or smth when I can beat the Cultist and Pillars with literal pre-boss loot like the Daedalus Stormbow or Onyx Blaster and then fight the actual challenge with the free Vortex Beater or Phantasm? Make the current celestial weapons require luminite, and give them a buff to compensate. I find it so boring that in Terraria, the game of near infinite combinations, every run ends with the same ~4 weapons. That's not good design.

  7. In my personal opinion, I love the Terraria endgame. Sure, it gets redundant after you've played the game a few times, but every game is like that. The only thing I would change is the progression with the hallowed & chlorophyte armor, those are too close together, and I'd get rid of the lunar events because If theres one thing I hate about this game its definitely that. Other than that, I love this game.

  8. I agree 100%. But frost and pumpking moon are pre golem. Technically golem and empress too, but most people fight them post golem anyway

  9. Agreed, I've always thought that Terraria's extra fast evil spread rushes you too fast through the best part of hardmode (that being pre and during the mech fights). Everything after the mechs is so rushed. You beat plantera then go immediately to the dungeon possibly then go kick Golem's ass, kill the cultist, then get your Pillar of Choice gone and get the best weapons in the game. Why bother using anything but the Solar Eruption once you can craft it?

  10. I actually think post Golem is just a microcosm of a problem that actually effects allot of different points in terraria's progression. Even in pre-hardmode there's this issue where the dungeon loot is completely and immediately outclassed by underworld loot, once you get the shadow key all the dungeon loot you just obtained becomes instantly obsolete, if you're a melee player in particular you will already have post dungeon gear before you even enter the dungeon, molten gear is supposed to be pre WoF gear but it can be obtained right after beating the EoW/BoC. Speaking of melee, the only ingredients used to craft the night's edge are swords you've been obtaining as you play, and so getting the last sword means the same thing as getting the night's edge, as a result, if you get the volcano before entering the dungeon the muramasa will just be an ingredient for the night's edge, and if you chose to abide by the progression and wait till the dungeon is open to explore the underworld, the volcano will just be an ingredient for the night's edge.
Hardmode suffers from a much bigger problem, maybe it's just me, but I really feel like hardmode doesn't have a mid game, it goes from getting your bearings and fighting the early enemies and bosses to an immediate boss rush straight to Moon Lord. Once you reach the post mech stage the only actual halting point in progression is chlorophyte, life fruit and finding a Plantera bulb, there is some progression, but it is mostly just a minor speed bump, then once you kill Plantera the game is essentially already over, everything from that point forward happens at the exact same time. Then there's one final hiccup after beating Moon Lord where you run into the exact same problem with the night's edge, he drops two swords and only one of them matters, the other one is simply an ingredient for the zenith. I'm not sure if they would ever do it since it would probably make speedrunners angry, but I really think terraria needs a few more major progression points to iron out the problems with too much content at once in some places

  11. Personally i dislike everything sdarting with golem but for a completly different reason that being the 3 last bosses in the are literally my least favourite in the entire game. Like honestly they are just incredibly annoying especially moon lord. Also the pillars are miserable especially vortex and solar ans the fact that you have to beat them and the cultist almost everytime you want to attempt the moonlord is just stupid (for reffrence ml took me about 50 tries on my master mode world).
I disagree with the optional bosses tho. i literally never skip them because they are somw of my favourite and the loot is really cool. I always go for duke fishron for the mount ,for empress of light for a lot of things really (i still haven't ever gotten that guitar thing and i want to get it in a playtrough eventually) soaring insignia ,terraprisma (and no the stardust dragon is not as good and definetly not as cool) kaileidoscope ,empress wings(plus it's my favourite boss in the game).
I also always do the old ones army event for the armor sets ,the pumpkin moon for the broom, scrolls and spooky armor and the martian madness for the xeno staff. so there is a lot of value in the stuff you get from the optional bosses and events. oh and also i literally never used any of the pillar weapons bc
1.i don't wanna beat the pillars more times than i have to
2.i just don't like them. Like for summoner by that point i already have the terraprisma, for melee i prefer the terra blade with a full speed build because it's a lot easier to aim and more conistent than the daybreak or solar eruption and for mage and ranged i dont really play those classes at that point in the game (actually i think I've never actually made a mage bulild like ever).
So yeah those are my thoughts on terrarias endgame. i just don't like the bosses that's all
