My Oceans and desert are in the danger zone :/ I just defeated wall of flesh and I'll take any methods for making the corruption spread easier to deal with. My right ocean is in the worst danger, but its also the one I care about the least as I didnt build anything there yet (still, gotta slow down the evil spread)
Are stone blocks good enough to cut the superficial spread?? And are 5 blocks long enough ?

The easiest method is to spread some hallow.
Hardmode generates a strip of crimson in a diagonal line all the way to the underworld so you are infected from the bottom up. Use hallow for now and wait until you can get the clentaminator to effectively deal with the crimson.
Make a house for the steampunker, then blast it
Buy lots of dynamite from the demolitionist,
Use the tnt at the border of the corruption, all the way down to hell.
The dynamite creates enough spacing to block the spread to other biomes entirely.
Placing a sunflower on both ends of the crimson prevents it from spreading past the sunflowers.
