It only affects what items the slimes drop when you kill them. Some players raise specific colors of slimes, and then farm them for their drops. Black slimes will still produce the same number of slime balls as other colors though.
If you want to prevent the witch from doing this in the future, buy the wicked statue recipe from Krobus, craft it, and place one in your slime hutch.

Just noticed that they don’t hurt as much when I fix my fences in my slime hutch. Not really sure cus I wear defense rings and my weapons are enchanted with topaz lol. I might be wrong.

Well, it affects the drops, also if you had any rare or specific slime you wanted, now they’re gone and you’ll have to go after a new one, but I don’t think that’s very difficult, they’re pretty easy to get as far as I’m aware
