This is why I really enjoyed different pixelmon versions, you can ride flying types or types that learn fly if I recall.

I understand the idea, but given that mojang is trying to get people not to rely on elytra anymore but to use other modes of transport instead, it’s unlikely.
I mean… Dragon-rider would become the new meta and everyone here knows it… No one would use any other form of transport anymore.
That something you have to consider. Mojang will never add something that makes all other alternatives useless.
