I wanted it to be a sort of wizard tower and I want to add teleport rooms on the main floor but I don’t have them yet. Tho any tips are appreciated!

  1. GalacticBlizzard on

    1. Sense of depth, back ground towers but with a interior you teleport up through to reach

    2. Thicker support, a castle is heavy and it feels unrealistic when the support isn’t structurally sound. I’d compare it to holding up a book with a tooth pick. I would add back ground walls on both sides that connect the over hanging side rooms to the ground. Since it seems like you in a mountain area, so why not add structure with a mountain? I would add houses on the side of it and make a cave that goes down through it from the top to the outer walls. Use echo paint or blocks that can be used as stair to give the appearance of walking up the side of the mountain to reach the houses but also being able to go down in the cave.

    3. maybe build a courtyard on the left side with 1×1 gaps in the walls to allow light through since walls partially cover empty spaces. so build a 3×3 wall and hammer out the center. but grow the trees first ( I think you can place walls behind them once grown, havent played in a while)

    4. Watch Khaios videos, I like to combine different wood types to add more details to bland wooden walls.

    5. Try building the trees or terrain decorations by hand, dead bushes, pine trees, ice spikes, etc. Be imaginative, what makes sense with what your building, the theme to be exact. Terraria trees are ugly tbh but that is just my opinion, so I’d try mixing actual trees with fake ones

What ever you do, keep making improvements and you’ll find what you like
