  1. you should enchant these with mending and repair them instead of putting them in a chest when they are almost broken. Im not judging, but its just a more efficient way

  2. You can always combine to shuffle the best enchants then use a disenchantment table to strip the good ones into a book. When disenchanting it will pull the top enchant onto the book and only the top one, shuffling is when you move around the enchants let’s say you have efficiency 1 in second on an item, you can then enchant that item with something else such as a book with eff 1 to give the item eff2 which will now be at the top and then boom you now have eff2 book which you can further level and make a god pick

  3. Combine at grindstone. Just keep combining broken ones till fully fixed then put good enchantments and mending on it

If you need them merge them with an anvil or if you do not want them just disenchant them with a grindstone for xp

  5. tbh, if you already have mending/all the enchants you need on a tool, the rest are redundant and you can disenchant for xp or throw them away.

no use having spares unless you plan on losing your tools somehow.

it’s still possible to die and lose all your stuff ofc so maybe have spares i guess? but you already have enchanted diamond gear (hopefully armor as well) and hopefully totems so the likelyhood is fairly low. still a chance though.
