When I first got an iPod for Christmas I found this neat free neat little app called YouTube(back when the app was a tan tv design) I don’t know when exactly I came across Minecraft but I thing I saw a YouTube channel by the name of NoobSniper play it and I thought it was cool. Then I saw there was a mobile version of Minecraft(this was a very very EARLY version, like a Minecraft LITE version. Super small worlds, creative only, 3 slot inventory, couldn’t save worlds but I really liked it. Then I believe I bought the real mobile version and I spent so much time one it. And I played it update after update. I remember the food and armor update, I remember when they added sprinting. There was no neather in the mobile version so you had to create this weird beacon bloc that spawned this neather brick tower and would spawn like glowstone and quartz on the ground. Then I stopped after it deleted my world. I think it was just too old and couldn’t be updated. I tried it on pc when horses were relatively new and couldn’t put it down. Now I just play with mods and it’s a fine time passer.

The annoying friend in my neighborhood convinced us to get it back in like 2012, and I haven’t quit since. I was the kind of kid to dismiss the popular games if I didn’t try them, and I’m not quite sure what was the final push. I think it was minecart roller coasters. I wonder how much different my life would be now if I hadn’t bought the game finally, because all of my interests today are rooted back to playing Minecraft if you follow the steps

German Youtubers like Unge, Gomme und GLP. They did these huge skyblock and other SMP projects, before SMPs even were a mainstream thing on youtube. Through that I got Minecraft Ps3 edition gifted. I also played on mobile a ton. When I was like 14 my dad bought me a used computer, and I immediately got Minecraft on my pc aswell.
This was my story with Minecraft, but the true magic happened when I got into making texturepacks. Through that I learned how to use paint.net really well. I never had money for photoshop so I kept on using paint.net, I downloaded plugins that added stuff like liquify and other things making it even more like photoshop. So when it came down to actually learn those more professional tools I didn’t have much trouble. When it got time for me to figure out what I wanted to do in the future, I found out there was a job where you can work with photoshop and other creative tools, and basically do what ive been doing in my free time for fun. And then I became a graphic designer.
Because of Minecraft I found my passion and my dream job. Well I’m still doing my apprenticeship, but Im in my last year.
(Btw Minecraft literally saved me, if Minecraft didn’t exist, I would’ve just kept on playing other games and just not learn anything about graphic design, and end up failing school aswell as not getting a promising job at all, I feel like my future relies on my younger self discovering this goofy voxel game)

this is a cool little story, my grandparents had roommates that just rented out a room because they were traveling the world from south korea and china, the guys name was robbie and he was very kind, he would play minecraft on his phone and one time he let me play on his world, he had leather armor and a stone sword with bow, i immediately died to a skeleton and he laughed it off, he helped me get it on my grandfathers old computer and i played in creative making ugly houses and spawning in cats, i hope i see him one day, he changed my life by showing me a simple block game
