For additional context, this world was brought over from the legacy console version of the game. I have already been to the End on this world, but this was not the stronghold I used to get there, as I threw my EoE after migrating to bedrock.
The map I am holding in my hand is there so that I can see where the legacy world ends and the modern bedrock edition generation begins, as ore generation is vastly different.

Uh, to be a pedant, that’s not strip mining. That’s just normal mining. Strip mining is when you remove the entire surface and dig everything by layers.

Imagine a timeline where u didn’t go for that gold, instead u continued strip mining, eventually getting bored, slowly and slowly stopped playing on the world, without knowing u where so close to the stronghold.
