  1. Everyone wants vertical slabs, but no one wants sideways stairs. When people build with stairs, they’re usually not used as stairs. They’re usually used to give builds a smoother texture. Similarly to how we shouldn’t be limited to only being able to use slabs on the bottom and top of blocks, I think we shouldn’t just be limited to using stairs for vertical smoothing of builds. Hopefully I explained this well enough.
To try explain it better, here’s an example of how it might be used:
Picture a 2×2 square with a 1×1 hole in the middle. Simple. Just have four stairs angled so that the gaps line up in the centre to effectively make a 1×1 hole in the middle of a 2×2 square. Now try do that horizontally. You can’t. But if sideways stairs were added, you could

  2. I honestly really like having one big update to look forward to every year, but I won’t complain about or praise this new system until I see it. I look forward to what’s to come

  3. I am gonna miss the mob vote, although it gives massive controversy upon what mob will gonna win, but it is very exciting that "WE" as a community choose something that we choose to add, (especially the biome vote), welp, no more controversy video's, it gets boring but at least mojang/ minecraft will have peace

  4. Quartz walls
    Fletching tables
A way to create or farm spore blossoms

I know Java/Bedrock/Mobile parity is an ongoing priority, but internal consistency and completeness should really also be a backburner and ongoing project

  5. I like the more random updates feature (possibly rip data pack updaters) but their use of FREE update scares me a bit for the future but idk might just be a company wording thing

  6. As a game dev who's been playing since only 1.16, it really feels like Minecraft has never reached version 1. The Caves and cliffs is the only real change I've seen and the game still needs something better after the Ender Dragon. Minecraft should have like 5-6 different worlds by now..When i started playing, I used to call people lazy for not making epic stuff but that stuff gets old pretty quickly… 0/10… will play until i die

  7. It doesn’t make sense— I thought the point of updates was to wait until they had a bunch of stuff to show rather than having a scheduled release? I don’t want them to treat this like the next blockbuster film coming out by Hollywood, I hope for holistic releases that better the game?

  8. i prefer the once per year updates over more frequent updates. I always start a new world for every major update and play it until the next major update. It feels like you are discouraged from exploring when the updates are frequent, as you wont want to load chunks that would have new biomes in them whenever you update your world. It will also make it harder to have large modpacks where all your mods are stable on the same version as it means more frequent updates from the mod developers

  9. Didn't get any notifications about your latest HermitCraft episode, nor have I had it recommended to me on my home page, despite having seen all the previous episodes! Very strange!

  10. Ambiance and Atmosphere Upate would be create. Adding in more depth and life into the environment, enriching each biome with more types of grass and flowers. Enhance the ingame structure designs, villages, nether fortresses and end cities are so boring and generic, void of flair and style of great builders. Adding anything that can break up the monotony, so the world's feel fuller.

Hopefully some sort of inventory update or other ease of life feature could be included.

  11. We need the water breathing effect from the turtle helmet to get buffed! Since 10 seconds is too short! We need 10 minutes or 5 minutes instead! Also we want the mace nerf to get reverted too! Also enchanted golden apple's regeneration to be 5, instead of 2! They also needs to nerf the creeper and skeleton too! Even make the zombified piglins doesn't cheat!

6:59 Yeah! Since mobs are really bad! It's annoying when they attack pets too! I got really mad at the zombies from keeps attacking the wandering trader that has llamas, villagers, llamas, trader llamas, trusted foxes and pandas! One of the reason why we want zombies to be replaced by a human instead!

  12. The more mojang changes their approach to updates, the more it makes me wonder why they can’t recapture the magic of the nether update and just do that all the time. I get that update was very stressful and burnt out the devs quite a bit especially with the pandemic. But jesus nobody expects you to live up to your personal best all the time. An update 60% as high quality as the nether update was would be one of the bigger updates of the post caves and cliffs era.

  13. Thanks for these insightful videos. I'm pleased with the Mojang process of releasing new content throughout the year except that it takes so long for modders to catch up with the many updates. I look forward to trying new features for months with every release so we don't have to do without beloved mods. While Mojang is cleaning up there code, I wish they would offer a stable mod interface that doesn't break with every 1.21.# change and so that the mod content can be provided as a mod loader independent datapack instead of a .jav mod.

Mojang can't possibly incorporate all the great features of some mobs but this stable interface in the Mojang code would eliminate the need for a feature explosion AND help these talented modders keep there work running with the latest update. I've heard several of the Hermits lament having to wait on a major version server upgrade until the few mods Heritcraft uses catch up. I'm guessing this problem drives you crazy too.

  14. [Both my suggestions on the official suggestions website got deleted and I don't know why. My anger is rising a bit each time I hear "listens to the community".]
Forget it, I can't even log into my account to check if I missed it or something.
