    One big problem with Fishing for me: 90% of the shit you get is useless unless you use a crate potion or need a lot of potion crafting materials. I like the chillness of it, but goddamn is it annoying to just wait ages until you finally get the thing you want.

    Terraria has more horizontal progression then vertical.
    Yes it's possible to just find an eye summon or two, get Hermes boots, a bow and go through the brain of cuthulu, build your armour and keep progressing vertically just mashing your head against the bosses, taking their items and going forward, but.
    The game is a lot easier when you get your mining gear, chisel, mobility, build arenas, grab early heart pieces, gnomes, bask statues etc.

    I'm not a YouTuber but I'm of the opinion that fishing is actually alright and even fun at times. Its only issue is that it pre-hardmode fishing has no real use since exploration is better in every way.

    You gotta think about how high energy and high stakes most of terraria's content is, fishing is a nice simple and low stakes reprieve from all that, unless its a bloodmoon…

    The game has some nice sandbox elements to it but I think its 99% about progression. The entire world around you changes based on what bosses you have beaten meaning there's always something new to be doing/working towards. The game even forces you to make progress with bosses spawning at night when you haven't beaten them yet and as soon as you enter hardmode you get slaughtered if you don't go mining to get some new armour

    There are two main things to do in Terraria.
    -Fighting enemies or bosses
    -Building and Mining.

    Fishing for me represents a proper break from always having to 'do something' if I don't feel like grinding out a boss I've been struggling with, or I feeel.uninspired for Building, I take a break from it to just..fish.
    It's the ultimate mental reset if you want to play the game, but not want to engage 100% with it. Just throw up a YouTube video on the side and listen for the bite sounds and get alot of fish for buff meals, potions and a load of crates.

    I usually play modded Terraria (currently im on my first Calamity Infernum run through) so for me, fishing is the ultimate 'break' from an otherwise challenging experience.

    Fishing is yes idk my perspective is incredibly biased on it i strong agree it was meant to enjoy for some ppl not all but tbh it is boring but the adrenaline on getting a crate and getting what you want is gud and if not blame it on angler 😛

    Absolutely not why cause dodging is a thing and tho i may have skill issue alot of the time when i Finally do it ya get pride but the cheese makes it like meh i did it and didn't mess up but to get frustrated enough to do means you lack will power my good sir

    Bias list but coming from someone who plays for fun this shi is for thrills and enjoyment! Go do your own thing just dont rub it in my face that you got rod of discord sooner than expected cause that shi triggers me XD

    I have literally never felt a desire to use the Nurse in the middle of a boss fight. It's like, why would the creators make a healing system based on potions that has long cooldown times if the intent was for us to always be able to top up for a pretty penny. It also just feels really clunky to talk to an NPC mid fight when I just want to concentrate.

    Fishing is just the most important side thing you can do in the game. Don't want to mine? Go fishing. Need life crystals? Go fishing. Loot from chests? Fishing.

    If you dont like fishing at all, yeah, i get that, i dont like fishing in normal terraria either.

    Play Supermodded. Calamity + Fargos + Thorium + Remnants of the Ancients + Aeqqus + Angler Shop + 20 other mods. You WILL change your mind.

    35 bobber gold fishing rod that has ~55 base damage and shoots lasers. Pre-boss.
