I played it at a friend’s house back in like summer of 2010 (her dad was a programmer and browsed Swedish gaming discussion blogs where someone recommend it). This was like the early Alpha version.
Then I my parents got it for me later that year when the Nether came out. We’ve played it ever since and actually run a server on the same world we played in in 2010 that we have brought through all the updates. I recently took our train-line from the wood block house we built when I was around 10 to the trial chambers that came out in my mid-20s. Crazy stuff.

I have the dates for every version I’ve bought. I got pocket edition on 23/6/2013, I then got Java on the 25/8/2013, then PS4 edition on the 25/12/2015, then the switch edition on the 20/5/2017 and I got the New 3DS edition on the 20/9/2018. Any free versions of bedrock edition I got on launch day.
I also got Minecraft earth in December 2019 and dungeons in October 2020.

I got it when Beta 1.8 was out. Loved it.
Then I saw that beta 1.9 was coming out and I was sad because I thought I’d have to buy it again to get 1.9
When 1.9 finally came out I went to the village near my base thinking it would have villagers but it didn’t magically get them

My first one was the free demo version of Pocket Edition. Back when the rose was blue, and you couldn’t save worlds.
My first proper version of the game was in 2011. I had it on Xbox 360, and it was new out I think. I remember there being a big stand of them in the entrance of Tesco, and my mum bought me a copy.
I’ve still got that 360 somewhere, but no power cable. Might have to invest in one to see if it still works.

Whenever pocket edition was a thing, and there were nether reactor cores. I’d remember always typing the same seed that if you dug straight down from where you spawned there would always be diamonds.
