  1. Focused (one ‘s’) is the standard spelling of this term in modern English.

Focussed (with a double ‘s’) is a rare variant spelling, although it is more common in Australian and British English than it is in American English.

  2. Why did they keep mentioning the fact that these updates are free? If it were anyone but Mojang, I would already be convinced that they are going to let you get some small updated features until they are ready to do a larger release (like a biome or dimension update)…and at that point you will need to pay.

  3. Something feels off about it, why does it seem like they're going to make 'drops' it more like micro updates that you may have to pay for, more like micro transactional updates. Since that is something they do in bedrock but with mods/resource packs etc.

  4. Understand one mob vote, but annual mob votes? That was not going to do down well. Im just glad the alledged child groomers of YouTube aren't manipulating the vote anymore.

  5. Is it just me or is it odd that they include the word “free” when saying there will be multiple free updates per year. Does that imply that they are working on DLC for Minecraft?

It has always struct me as not the best business model to charge $30 once and then forever update a game, but this would be a major change to Minecraft.

  6. Ack! I’ve had a world going since 1.14 and have racked up around 400 hours on it. I loved revisiting the world every year to explore the big updates all at once. The change will effectively kill my rhythm that I’ve built up over the last five years. Although! I say this from MY perspective. Overall, the change seems very healthy for the future of the game. I remember back to playing Sea of Thieves when they were devoting themselves to small monthly content updates. That was a very fun and decisive time for the game.

    I’m in for it!

  7. I hope either they bring back biome votes, or even theme votes, or at the very least keep mob votes as just a way to know what people are most excited about and add all, then later another to ask which one people loves most when they're all out.
