Welcome to the world of modded! I assume it has JEI (just enough items). When in your inventory you’ll see a bunch of block icons on the left and a search bar. You can obviously search up anything you want. Left clicking a block / item will show the recipe for how it’s made (you can click on the tabs at the top of the recipe to see more) and right clicking a block / item will show what it’s used in. You can hover over an item and click “a” (default) which will add it to your favorites on the top left. That way you can figure out the functionality of any random stuff you find.
Also, most mods have wikis so feel free to look up any blocks you don’t know the use for
