So I'm using the Stardew Valley Expanded images for reference, but how cool would it be to have realistic shaders in the game? If it's even possible?
Similar to how shaders work on Minecraft, or the lighting in Core Keeper.
Don't get me wrong, Stardew has great graphics, very cozy, but it would be really good if there could be a way to implement realistic shadows, and sun effect, and so on, I've searched for mods that could maybe produce this effect, but I've only found reshades.

No thanks. I find that realistic graphics and *good games* dont always mix well.

Realistic graphics bring bugs, glitches, clipping, all sorts of annoying little shit.

SDV is fine the way it is. If *anything* make it an isometric angle. That’ll be cool

  2. It’s okay I’m not planning on trying to add anything like that to the game, I suck at modding, I just wanted to know if anyone also wondered how it would look like

  3. After playing Core Keeper, wouldn’t mind having a mod like that for Stardew! Even if it was just the water physics – would be fishing even longer!

  4. There are two mods I use a lot, dynamic reflexions and visible fish, they just add so much more immersion and realism to the game

  5. My guess is that it wouldn’t work because there isn’t a lighting system in the game. Now I know nothing so I could be wrong, but I think the game solely relies on its pixel art for lighting. So to make it more realistic looking someone would have to redo all of the pixel art and sprites.

Like I said I could be 100% wrong on how this game works so I am sorry if I am.

  6. Personally I adore the current style. I find realism isn’t as nice to play. I feel a lot less stressed playing the current style.
