I don’t really mind since compared to regular Minecraft, Dungeons and Legends have an actual story to follow so taking elements from them seems like a good idea

Don’t get me wrong the movie looks like total shit, possibly funny and rewatchable shit.
But there is like no way to make a Minecraft story movie/game without making up some lore or taking some already existing lore from the game, like legends and dungeons and going somewhere with it

I mean… you can’t really make a movie about JUST Minecraft Java/Bedrock edition. There’s no lore and no story. If they weren’t taking ideas from Legends or Dungeons to make the movie, they would just have to make up new things anyways. They have other pre-established sources of lore, so they may as well use them.

Because there’s literally no way to make a “Minecraft movie” on just Minecraft, it would just be a normal movie storyline that happens to be in the MC universe. Dungeons and Legends have an actual storyline so the movie can still be accurate to some part of the MC lineup.
