The Minecraft Movie Trailer looks silly
My hot take – I think this movie will be fun. It looks silly, and pretty absurd at certain points, but I think watching it will be a good time. My extra hot take is that the things people are laughing about (Jack Black being in just a sweater, the sheeps goofy face, the mobs having wild teeth) are actually all the things that make this fever dream hilarious.

I love the way the sheep looks. I don't understand why people are so angry. I really hope they don't change it. Although the sheep having the same eyes is meh

According to the Game Theory videos, Creepers are most likely actually plant creatures. So being all grassy makes sense.
My take is that this is going to be exactly how the Mario movie played out. The directors will take criticism into account and the movie will end up being so much better than youtubers say it is.
I'm really not sure how to feel about it atm, but I think I lean more towards not liking it. My expectations were already at zero, but now they're below. They started kind of high when I first heard about it because I was so sure the movie would be 100% animated, with animated characters, then I heard that Jack Black was being cast and I thought okay, a bit odd but sure… But then those designs were leaked, and I got worried. And now this… Why didn't they just use the animation style they use for the trailers? I think that would've looked better than this mess.
I don't plan on watching it, but I wasn't going to watch it anyways. If by some miracle that this movie ends up doing good, or at the very least okay when it comes out, I'll give it a shot, but for now, it's going to take a lot for it to get me interested enough to watch it on release
But hey, the Mario movie was surprisingly good, maybe this can pull it off too? I mean I was so sure it would do terrible, but then it came out and people loved it, which seriously surprised me. So who knows, we'll just have to see I guess… But I'm not confident

After seeing the Borderlands movie and being really bored with it and this has a similar vibe to me. I just dont know.

I love Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, but his last film was kind of shit. Thelma the Unicorn lacked a lot of the charm that he brings to his films and I think that comes down to his style of film making working best on a shoe string budget. When he has all the money and resources to work with that charm doesn't translate.
It also feels like real copium to say the CGI creatures look good. Maybe a different taste of option but they are giving massive ugly sonic vibes. There is nothing wrong with being silly, movies like the Lego movie show that silly and sincere don't juxtapose one another but this…. Yeah it just looks like a massive ad or cash grab.

It’s just looks terrible unfortunately. I wish they did the Captain Sparklez animation style with no live action people. Similar to what the Mario Movie did.

I like the look of it, but I don't think the live action is a good design choice or going to do it any favors. The market is very anti-live action right now.
Genuinely so nice to see someone speaking positively about this thing. Like… it's not that bad! At worst the movie might end up as a generic Jumanji rehash. At *worst*.

The issue I have with the movie is that I believe there is a good way to do it. I mean, you could literally just give Element Animations a bag and reap the rewards, but that's not the way Hollywood does fan service movies. Once you've decided on this strange "realistic" aesthetic, this is probably about as good as you can hope for.

Napoleon Dynamite was made by college students at a school with a third rate film department. (I’m saying this as someone who went to this school.) It is a terrible movie. You disappointed me Mumbo.
