  1. There are many changes that you categorize as "quality of life" that I would classify as immersion breaking. The watering can not needing to be filled, jumping fences and running without using energy, the fishing, entering shops and buildings whenever, etc. These are cool and make the game faster, sure, but they go against the immersion and rhythm that Stardew Valley delivers. These are different game designs and philosophies, one is not strictly better than the other, which is what "quality of life changes" imply to me.

  2. I can't wait for stardew 1.6 on console all these short clips at the start of it show little quality of life changes and ooooo it just makes me so excited to play!! Looking forward to the qol changes as much as things like mastery and the new books!!

  3. Feels very weird to compare these two games which one is "better". Stardew Valley might very well be the only reason Fields of Mistria even exists because it made farming sims popular and spawned all these Early Access games that want to get into the new hype (which I would be very happy about as a passionate Farm Sim lover, if they would just FINISH THEIR GAMES! Looking at you, Coral Island) I really, REALLY enjoyed playing Fields of Mistria, but in the current state it lacks so much content that it is not in the slightest comparable to Stardew Valley. And as another commenter pointed out: A lot of the quality of live things are extremely immersion breaking to me. Like changing every name just on the spot, changing outfits whenever, changing your pronouns as if they were nothing more than a cute cosmetic.
