Context: Modrinth just updated from their privacy-respecting Adrinth network to Google Ads. There is now a cookie banner with hundreds of partners. Ads are loaded at runtime which makes the site slower. Ads are now privacy-invasive and ask for geolocation permission.
I’d like them to move back to Adrinth. They’ve added other controversial features but moving to Google Ads simply isn’t a good idea at all.
If you want a proff an adless website can work see [Lichess](https://lichess.org/patron), and I’m not asking them to go adless, I would just like them to move back to Adrinth.
