You could have done it entirely with Ars, honestly, and it’d probably be more reliable. Fell takes the tree down, place block to plant saplings, and pickup with AOE to get all the drops. You can power it with a passive source generator out of passive animals.
There’s a source link that speeds up their growth, and gives source for doing that, and more source when they die. You can also breed animals in boats. So if you suspend some on iron bars over a portal, and breed them with the ritual, the babies will drop into the portal to get it out of radius of the ritual. Teleport them to a 1-block tall holding area and they’ll suffocate when they grow up.
This is how I did my wool/mutton farm and it worked fine to power my tree farm.
