It's so common yet overall kinda useless besides spyglasses. It's way to common to be as useless as it is.

I personally wish there were copper weapons and armor. Or even COPPER COINS to trade with villagers instead of using emeralds.

At this point it feels like copper is supposed to be useless. However I think it’s meant to be built with and used just for fun.

  2. Copper is supposed to be a building material with a few other miscellaneous uses. Stuff like copper tools and armor would be redundant.

I think because they will be updating mine carts they should make powerd rails made with copper and then make the ones already made with gold super powerd rails that go 1.5X faster

Using it to make insulated redstone that can go underwater and/or longer distances would be cool

  5. Maybe not copper armor or tools, but some kind of copper weapon, like a staff, wand, or even sword, that receives a charge of lightning during a thunderstorm could be neat. Like how you can only “fly” with the trident (and a specific enchantment) in water or a rainstorm.

  6. What if copper tools behaved as the opposite of gold tools? It could be really slow but have high durability and could be able to mine iron unlike gold, and the armor could have low defense and high durability.

I want better redstone components with like basalt and copper, like maybe a circuit board block that’s maybe a 5×5 or 7×7 grid in the UI you can put comparators, repeaters, redstone dust and torches on. In the world it could have inputs/outputs on some or all of its sides. Miniature logic circuits would make big difference for things like mini games and auto crafters.

I’d like copper pressure plate and copper button tbh, but that’s basically it. You get so much copper because it’s a deco block, like quartz. It doesn’t need a million uses. You don’t see people bitching about quartz being useless.

It’s a decorative block. Quartz doesn’t have many uses, does that mean it’s bad?

  10. I quite like the idea of coins, although I think they would need a few uses (and I could understand the reluctance, as there would certainly be clamoring from some for gold or iron coins)

I think copper golems were a good idea, just for the novelty. Sadly they were left to oxidize.

But ultimately, I think more copper implementation with redstone would be cool. If they ever give us more machine-like blocks, copper would be a good choice. With this, I will point out that copper bulbs as a T-flipflop are pretty useful.

Oh, another one since it’s seemingly at the forefront of updating anyway- copper with a revised minecart system would be nice. Especially if they don’t want to naturally raise the speed cap, something like copper powered rails could boost minecarts to 20 or 50 blocks per second max speed from the standard 8. Maybe also add some copper cross tracks? Or a copper turntable? Anyway I could see it having use here.

Now just spitballing, but copper could also help make instruments. Make it so instruments can be placed on a noteblock to change the sound profile to that of block. Give us trumpets, tubas, saxophones, flutes. Goat horns involved too?

Obviously none of these are super fleshed out, but I think it’s clear there are plenty of ways yo expand uses of copper. But all of this said, copper has grown in uses. It’s a great decoration block with a wide palate. Copper bulbs are very useful in redstone and have uses for simple lighting. Lightning rods are interesting if used properly. (Charged creepers without the hassle of getting a trident). Point is that the spyglass is not all it has to offer.

I also would like to see copper tools/armor, even if just for the historical aspect. Drowned could also spawn with copper gear sometimes.

  12. Copper tools wouldn’t be that useful now that diamonds are much easier to find. Like the leather armor that is harder to obtain than iron but still sucks.

  13. I love these sorts of questions. Sorry for the length. Let me know what folks think.

TLDR: Copper has a use many forget, and that’s building. Copper tools and armor would be terrible since they’d need to be worse than iron for how easy it is to get, but then if it is worse you would stop using it quickly, making it essentially useless anyways. Copper coins are an awful idea, don’t remove the only use for emeralds. Instead, add another mob that can be bartered with like piglins, using copper ingots instead of gold. Maybe they can give you sand for an easy renewable sand method? Buff the spyglass so it can see an enemy and then make them glow to be seen through walls. Finally, add a cheap copper powered rail and a calibrated rail for much more options for minecarts.

You’ve always gotta remember that being a building material is also a use. Copper is incredible at that because it offers several different shades and options to work with. So it’s not “useless,” it just doesn’t have uses that speak to your wants and needs as a player.

And would you even want to use copper tools and armor? Where would that sit on the progression chart? It’s easier to get than iron, so it should be worse, but then it becomes obsolete so quickly that what’s even the point? It would become useless super quickly.

And with the coin, is this meant to replace emeralds? Emeralds are ONLY used for trading, if you add another way to trade, you make emeralds significantly worse.

Maybe they could add a mob like piglins that you can copper barter with for some materials. Maybe they give sand so we can farm it easily, like how piglins give gravel. Ooh maybe if they give sand they can be an ocean mob, and perhaps they also give an easier way to farm tridents as well! Omg I keep getting more ideas for this, what if this is like a new structure in oceans, an Atlantis of sorts, a bunch of trident wielders in an underwater village. They can be bartered with but are initially hostile. Perhaps defeating an elder guardian gives you some sort of helmet you can wear so they are friendly?

Instead of tools, I would buff the spyglass, I have a fun idea. Maybe if you are looking at an entity long enough, it glows and can be seen through walls for like 60-120 seconds. Basically you can go scope out an area and see where the enemies are. Since so many folks use zoom mods, why not give the spyglass an additional functionality that those zoom mods don’t?

Also I’d add one other item, the calibrated rail. With the new experiments with minecart speed, I have an idea where the rail’s power input determines how much of a speed boost (or decrease) it gives to minecarts. Imagine the roller coaster opportunities you could have with this. Slow, gradual inclines followed by incredibly fast drops. Being able to control the acceleration yourself. Would be really neat. This would also give amethyst another use.

I’d also be open to adding just a generic copper rail that is a weakly powered rail. Just enough to move carts around but not so much that it’s good for traveling. Cause rail systems are expensive and they need changing.

Finally, just add the copper golem. Doesn’t even need a function, would be cool to add more life to the world. Little copper guy moving around would be pretty cool. They can still give it the functionality of pressing buttons and stuff if folks want that.

One of the pixels on the helmet is wrong, it’s angering me
Respectfully, FIX IT. Please and thank you

give it some kind of enchanting use with amethyst. like an enchantment focuser that allows you to have more control over what enchantments you get.
