Useful! I've done things similar to this before (teleporting to a bed, unsetting spawn, them teleporting to world spawn) but I didn't know you could automate it with wiring!
Never knew this was a thing.
But there is a separate setting for "spawn" and "home", or its shellphone exclusive?
The mushroom song in this video is a nightmare if you actually listen to it.

Permanent bed warps are really handy for multiplayer where one person might want to build their base in an area where a pylon already is. Alternatively you can save a forest pylon if everyone has a bed warp station at their base.
I just fish for 5 hours and get a shellphone pre hardmode (I have actually done this before)
Now that I think about it, couldn't you make a permanent bedwarp in the dungeon entrance pre skeletron by using the naturally generated wiring for the lamp, a pressure plate and active stone?

Ngl, i use this all the time on most runs.
well teleporters require a ton of wire to set up, so in a mediumcore world where you want your spawn point as far away from anything else as possible, it seems useful
might build a house by the ocean in my calamity world, so this would be useful.
Not only i aways get shellphone but also i never use bed to set spawn (with the exception of my celebrationmk10 seed playthrough).
somehow in all my thousands of hours playing this game, this never once occurred to me. i will be doing this constantly now
I didn't know bedwarp was a thing but now I want to use it.
The shellphone literally just lets you do this
The world would be a much better place if beds had this utility in real life.
We need tents instead of beds that allow you to set your spawnpoint outside without needing an entire house.
i always carry the resources for a sand/door bedwarp in earlygame when i go exploring/mining/etc, its great if i need to clear my inventory or craft things then go back to whatever i was doing
Huh, never thought to use a player sensor. My way has been linking a block to a 3 second timer, but it can cause problems with logging out. The sensor is a pretty nice hardmode upgrade!
Too bad the shellphone kind of invalidates this. Making use of game mechanics like this is a lot more interesting imo.

That permanent one has me thinking about building a storage room at spawn and my house elswhere so I can use the secondary mirror location to quick access my items when I'm at home
But maybe I just like the novelty I guess 😂
