6 Tips and Tricks to Take Your Farm to the NEXT LEVEL

One of the best features of Stardew Valley is that you can play the game however you want. As you progress, you’ll make money, friends and, of course, mistakes. As an experienced Stardew farmer, I’ve made a TON of these over the years. So I compiled my best tips for intermediate farmers to make your farm run just that little bit more smoothly.

  1. Hooray! Cant wait for 1.6 to come to console. Also i find it very hard to play on kbm, so i choose to keep playing playstation instead. Or i just connect the controller to the pc.

  2. mid game? Winter, year 1. Focus on buying coal from Clint. In year 2 the price of coal, wood and stone go up dramatically. Turn a lot of that coal into a shed full of preserve jars. All of your high yield but low profit crops should go into the preserve jars. Some harvests will go in the preserve jars too. Turn 2g Spring Onions into 54g pickles. You might even consider putting high value crops into preserve jars. While you might make a little less from a preserve jar than a keg, it only takes 3 days for a preserve jar to make a sellable product, while the keg takes an entire week. If you have tons of crops to process the faster jars might generate more profit. Your mid-game to end-game goal might be to produce enough kegs to accommodate all of your high value crops.

Another mid-game goal would be to generate more passive income. Things like crab pots, beehives and the mushroom logs produce crops with minimal effort on your part. Set up a bunch of them on a route that is easy for you to check frequently. Like set up a path on the farm where you hit your barns, then wander past the beehives on the way to a pond lined with crab pots which ends in a small forest with lots of mushroom logs set up in it. While this isn't big profits, the steady trickle for little effort will fund the big projects later.

  3. Lily! We need a video on decoration. Like house decoration ideas or community decoration and Ginger Island Farm Decoration! I’m sure I’m not the only one who spends ages making my farm look good and then blowing it all up with mega bombs.
