I set myself a little challenge of making $1 million in tea tree saplings… It took a little over 2 years in game to pull off. I could have done it faster had I put more work toward collecting clay and mixed seeds.

What I learned:
For every 30 fiber seeds planted, you get 150 to 165 fiber and 10 mix seeds. Clay can be harvested from the beach everyday, usually 25 to 35. Summer seeds are the easiest to produce because they only use three foraged items instead of four like the other seasons. As far as lumber goes, I played on the four corners farm, and use the entire top left quadrant for trees using a one grid spacing pattern. That would yield approximately 2,500 lumber at a time. This was done without tree fertilizer because of fiber production. Now if you want to make a really clean tree farm use cobblestone as spacers between the trees, and it will prevent saplings from forming around your fully grown trees. (Not necessary just aesthetically pleasing). And you'll get plenty of sap from the trees.

Would I do this again? Probably not. Was it fun? Sure. Granted I do make more per season with ancient fruit wine alone, but I wanted to do it.

And I did this on the switch with 1.5. I don't have the most recent update yet. And from what I understand I would have had to double the amount of resources needed.

In the 1.5 version it was 4000 seasonal seeds, 10,000 lumber, 10,000 fiber.

Good luck and happy gaming!

  1. Nice, it’s cool that you created a challenge for yourself and actually did it. This is the kind of stuff that keeps the game fun and entertaining.

  2. Can’t imagine how slow the wood grind was without using tree fertilizer! Awesome challenge, and it’s impressive you completed it. It’s somewhat of a dream to see that much wood and fiber in one place, haha!
