Magic handcuffs are pretty easy to obtain, however this is my first run ever (I’ve put expert) and by now it’s the easiest boss I’ve encountered, killed him first run with a similar setup as your (other than king slime). I may be wrong

Looks fairly good, but try to get a mana flower. You might also want to look for an upgrade for that cloud.
It appears you have crimson, you could try to make potions from crimson biome fish as well if buffs are a concern.

I think you should stick on potions, some heart reach and iron skin can really help
