Welcome to the fishing club! This was basically my experience at first with the game as well. My gf hates the fishing mini game so I elected to take over and wound up really enjoying it. I reached 10 fishing while everything else was at 4-6 and was feeding good money & collectibles into the farm.
Put some Carp/Chub & Stonefish/Midnight Squid and some cloth through a sewing machine and you’ll really look the part too!
