my friend says my builds are “overtextured” and too much to look at. is he right?

  1. This is going to vary fairly extremely.

    1. Not everyone like the textured look and it takes a long time to both appreciate it and to do it right

    2. Very, very, many texturing techniques you see others use (Bdubs is the obvious name here) is meant to be viewed from a distance. That distance is important as it’s what makes colors blend so they’re less “messy”

    Your builds here are fantastic, they just do fall into the same vein a lot of current builds do as we’re all experimenting w/ color theory.

    Builds look ‘worse’ without any texturing/weathering if it’s meant to look realistic in MC – this is much better!

  3. Texture can be great, but I would agree that this feels a bit too busy for my liking. Maybe it’s the colour palette, with the mix of red and brown. Having brick, granite, then dirt and wood is a bit jarring. Tastes will vary though.

    The textures are sick. Only thing I’d change is to add a border around the front-most brick part so there’s a gap between that and the other brick part. Idk if that made sense haha
