Sipover’s Nostalgia Bait Video Is Horrible

OH BOY! What a fantastic video by @Sipover
I can’t wait to hear about how old Minecraft is better than modern Minecraft, despite being buggy, having less features, and outside of nostalgia and novelty, is worse in almost every way.

  1. SipOver be like "This game isn't an adventure"
    🥪
My brother in Christ, "You make the adventure. It's a sandbox. There's this fun game I play called Minecraft – have you heard of it? Because you clearly haven't if you think this way about it."

  2. I personally loved old minecraft textures and lighting and that feeling when I finally make a good build in minecraft or follow a building or redstone guide book bought from my schoolastic fair and then get a shivering happiness feeling, like when you're in a quaint little pillow fort. Y'know?

  3. "i like old minecraft, i found it really fun, just building simple was really enjoyable!"

OH MY GOD UR SIO STUPID HAHA U SUCK YOU HAVE TO PUT 300 HOURS INTO THIS DAMN GAME

    theres ur video.

  4. Does anyone react about the fact that it isnt beta 1.8 but before ? He is litteraly shitting on the golden age community but he doesn’t know anything about old versions

  5. I love that you've brought the angry British ranting genre to minecraft and I fear the day I fall into the crosshairs

    Ty for the shoutout <3

  6. been playing since 2011 and honestly I feel like none of these "old good new bad" videoa under stand the point of minecraft
there's no repeatable fun in a linear progression. it just gets boring after a few times. that's why nearly every game adds things to make it less predictable, like random events. stripping minecraft back to a handful of blocks and some basic progression would instantly kill so much fun in the game.

why would I want to go back to a time where my only options for building were wood, stone, or wool. why would I want to go back to a time when there was only one major fight in the game.

why would I do that when in modern minecraft, I can go on an adventure. I can build cool things that look good with just simple blocks, yes, but then I can also make more complicated things as I go. I can make automated farms, I can explore dungeons in all 3 dimensions, I can fight several different bosses/scripted encounters

fuck people who hate new minecraft for adding new stuff

  7. i never heard a professional minecraft builder say „there’s too many blocks to choose from“ 🤓
it’s more often than not a good idea to stick to a certain palette, but i like being able to choose that palette and have it not locked to random old ugly textures

  8. the problem isnt that the game has updated so much. the problem is that we have figured out how to play it well, and we dont suck at it anymore. i experienced a same thing with roblox doors. me and my cousins where running around for like 20 minutes just having fun and hiding from the stuff, but once i found out how 2 play it it instantly became less fun

  9. I would say that the thing that makes it nostalgic is that we where bad at the game. I remember my first Minecraft server, I was ass at the game but it was also the best Minecraft experience. As I got older I saw more Minecraft YouTube and I got better. Now I try and make a new world I usually find a village and trade to good stuff but if I was 9 years old I would probably go around and adventure. I mean it doesn’t depend on the Minecraft version but how much we have played the game and how good we are. I still se kids having loads of fun playing Minecraft in the same way as I did.

  10. The sipover video is by far the worst example of videos criticizing modern Minecraft. Among others, Dialko has a far better video on this topic which I do recommend.

  11. “Oh no! Minecraft isn’t a sandbox game anymore! I loved old Minecraft because you could do so much without getting to the end of the game!” (Proceeds to complain about the new additions that make it more of a sandbox and give you more things to do)

  12. Btw I play on PS5
As far as i'm concerned, i don't really like modern minecraft because i am stuck on bedrock 🙁
I can play the legacy edition but not online (2nd account ps plus money issue).
Half of my friends whith who I play doesn't want to play bedrock, some of them lose interest just after 3 days.
We tried to add mods, but it's always the same, we are 3 at the begining and i end up alone or with a single of my friends.
I do build and I am a creative person, but sometimes the harrassement of the mobs in caves, at night and IN THE NETHER, make me want to stay on legacy…

  13. I personally prefer playing older versions, purely because of modpacks. In older versions there was interesting and novel things, like Blightfall or Crash Landing. In modern versions, most modpacks are either A: Mashup "Kitchen Sinks. B: has a single copycat horror mod as the focus, or C: Is so poorly optimized I can't even run it for an hour.
