Started playing Stardew with my GF on multiplayer mode. Believe me, time never pauses. Reading stuff, buying, fishing, looking in chests, It doesn't matter. Cutscenes are a pain, because if you enter a long cutscene early on the day you can simply lose all your morning by just watching a full cutscene. It's tought.
The post time applies only when in single-player mode. But if you're in a multiplayer farm and you're the host, it pauses if no one else is on.
