Look how questing system looks in prominence II or ftb packs if you ask how to neatly organize it and make it look amazing and feel nice to follow. Use gosh darn icons thats for sure. And if you want to make it better/faster learn shortcuts and there are probably some tutorials for more advanced things regarding questing

definitely find an excuse to keep this in it

The checkmarks can be helpfup for a few situation for example when you want to give the player an info or so.
