  1. My wife and I are doing a recycling focused co-op run. We did the math for 1000 pots with angler and lure master, and, using all the coal from trash to smoke lobsters, crabs, and as many crayfish as you can, you’d make roughly the same money from freshwater pots as ocean ones. It was an interesting find.

  2. i'm currently doing my first proper playthough (just hit ginger island) and was using 12 crap pots the whole game. i put them in the small pond on the farm and have 4 deluxe bait maker to feed them + extra for fishing myself. I was using all the cashed fish for creating quality fertilizer but stopped in year 2 for deluxe speed-gro. i'm currently using it to make sashimi and thats my goto food for any situation + i just gift it when ever i see a villiger. it's like by most villigers and loved my sebastion. just don't give it to emily, kent or Evelyn.

  3. I set up 3 crab pots and one deluxe bait ratio. This does two things. One obviously you'll always have enough bait for the pots, two any leftover bait is sent to my fishing rod. I don't fish daily but usually pass by some crab pot stations. This lets me slowly build up my bait count in the fishing rod for when I do want to go fishing for a specific reason. Granted it's not a huge amount of exp, but it's more than enough for me to make fertilizer.

  4. Is there any way to increase the chances of bigger crabpot fish? Like luck or fishing level? (I only need a 5 in. shrimp to have max size for all fish except legendary, and it's not giving me one 🙁

  5. I started a game with a bunch of mods, one of them being automation. I set up several traps in the lake, with a chest to store what they catch, a deluxe worm bin to supply the traps daily, a trash recycler to convert all the junk they gather, and a smoker to boost the value of the fish caught. With this setup, checking it once or twice a year can net a pretty significant profit considering the minimal effort and materials needed. Great video btw!

  6. i find "rebaiting" the pots incredibly annoying so unless i have to do the crabpot bundle or im looking to romance Elliot the only crab pots in my playthroughs are gonna be for decoration xD

  7. On my first 1.6 playthrough I spent nearly two ingame months with half a dozen crab pots failing to get the mussel I needed to complete my fishing collection and it NEVER occurred to me that I could have made bait from the foraged ones to help out 😭
