Your inventory can crash in Minecraft 1.21.

how to crash your game in 1.21 I feel like it’s a really easy thing to do in this version of the game right now some of which I have not explained but first of all hold on I’m going to change my skin oh by the way you’ll notice I’m also in survival mode that is not an accident because strangely enough there’s been some new discovery where you can kick yourself out of single player mode if you do something with armor stands and it’s kind of related to the new item stack components and it can get a little bit confusing but let me explain how this works so you may have seen me do this in some of my videos but I like to sometimes give myself a lot of items that stack more than 64 times and you can do this by simply adding Max stack size and adding 99 and you’re giving yourself 99 of them and now you have 99 diamonds in your inventory and if you didn’t know how to do this now you know that you can do this so this guy in front of me is holding 99 diamonds it’s a very old technique that people have tried to use to obtain 128 items and if you’re asking I’m afraid that doesn’t work anymore things have changed however it’s not the same diamonds as the ones in my hand and you’ll noce because if I grab this from his hand they won’t interact with each other one of them has ingredients and one of them doesn’t they both have different stack components so they don’t interact with each other it’s going to be a little bit confusing until I do certain things with those diamonds okay what I’m going to do now is go back to survival mode and I’m going to move these diamonds into this slot you can see how the game understands what I’m doing I’m moving 99 diamonds into different slots in my inventory and the game allows it it doesn’t screw up it doesn’t say hey what are you doing let me change the stack back to 64 no these diamonds are legitimate I can throw these on the ground I can pick them back up and I’ll pick up 99 diamonds they’re legitimate these diamonds however that I grabbed from this guy will not do that if I place him here it’s going to split back to 64 and to 35 which means what this armor stand is doing is weird the game doesn’t know what this thing is in his hand it may just be 99 diamonds but something is wrong with them so how does the game Crash for some reason the game hates anything that is above 99 if you go above 99 the game says what the heck let’s crash the game Let’s crash this guy out of the game let me just show this to you so if I have the max stack size set to 100 the game says no throws an error if I give this armor stand 100 diamonds it’s just going to return one can’t do it if you attempt to move them around your inventory it will just fix the stack so how do you do it well the secret lies in this interesting slot that is not visible in your inventory and that’s because it is your mouse cursor you can now affect the items that you’re holding in your mouse cursor with a command introduced in 24 w10a which was a while back it’s like in March but of course since you can’t do that in regular gaml you have to use armor stands and their finicky ways of understanding so grab the diamonds switch over to another slot grab them again and then simply combine them in your hand and suddenly you’re holding 134 diamonds it’s the only way to do it you can’t use the command item replace entity at s player. cursor with diamond 100 that doesn’t work 134 being 99 plus the difference between 99 and 64 the only way to do this is to Simply fill your entire hot bar with 99 diamonds from this guy and then if you move your mouse over them and stack them upon each other you suddenly have three 379 diamonds in your mouse cursor at this point in time Minecraft is very angry at you and the only way that it will react is fail to decode packet by crashing your game this is a traditional server kick cuz you can go back to server list here you’re not playing multiplayer you’re playing single player but it still tries to send you back to your multiplayer list oh yeah that reminds me you can’t do SL KCK anymore in single player dang it or slban nah so simply put if I ever tried to create a stack of over 100 items in the game myang would not like me they never did anyway see that white soft glow over the text that’s a neat effect I’d actually want to see that again

  1. now im really curious how devestating the other bugs are right now since Phoenix doesnt want to talk about them and i assume its because they can be pretty hard abused or just destroy your game or something but thats currently the main reason why im not updating my server, hope they fix these bugs fast so i can start playing the newest version with my friends on my server

  2. I’m really sad Mojang imposed a hard coded limit of 99. I know why they did it, because the numbers bleed over to ther slots, so I wish they changed it if you go over 3 characters the font just goes a bit smaller. After 1,000 it should just abbreviate to 1k, then 1.1k , etc and just hover over the item with your cursor to see the exact value.

  3. You could have get kicked out of a singleplayer world in an unique way, in earlier versions, but I don't know which version i did this, but it was definitely 1.14 or higher. So grab a world you don't mind if the entirity of it gets destroyed (or just simply make a new world, or make a backup if you love risky stuff), and just simply tp to ~ 6347643985332587436532984738598 ~. You need to set the Y coordinate to an absolute mess of a very high number, and teleport to that. And instead of falling from that height, no, you get teleported so high, that it rains there, and just doesn't give you enough time to think, the game kicks you out of your singleplayer world in a few seconds, and you can't react. You're stuck high up in the sky, and whenever you join the game again, you're still in the high rain, and a few seconds later get kicked. So yeah, if you're not quick enough to teleport back to a low place, your world is doomed.

  4. Steve try to go beyond true threshold of carrying capacity of over 99 diamonds then Steve able be
Mojang: THATS ILLEGAL GET OUT OF THIS SERVER YOU BUGGY CREATURE

  5. Mojang's software development process is definitely a crap. I mean, they did apply a hard-coded stack amount check to players' and block entities' inventory, but totally forgot there is an entity (Armor Stand) whose inventory can interact with players, so I believe they had no test cases for this.
From this, I believe that any entity that has its own "invisible" inventory (that players can interact with through commands and drop the items in it) may have such inventory bug that crashes (internal) server. Piglin may meet the criteria, since it has invisible inventory and dropped gold ingots in inventory when admiring them.
I should have realized this earlier, considering there are already a bunch of vicious bugs in 1.21 now. (and Java developers are just on their holiday now. cool.)

  6. Survival players heads up: you now have one extra slot step by step guide
    1. throw any amount of items on the floor (only if ur inventory is full)
    2. pick an item in your inventory with you mouse
    3. close your inventory
    4. pick up the item
