I built this in survival on a server. Plan to rebuild the tower and the castle to be more “gothic”. Any critique or suggestions? More info in the comments
So the “castle” on the first screenshot is on the left (east). I built it several years ago before even that vanilla terrain generation update so the admin had to just copy and paste the old privates into the new world including my castle. The tower was built a year ago. It was a huge pain in the ass to gather all the stone, smelt it and try not to fall and die during construction, but it was worth it… I used to like both the castle and the tower very much, especially the latter, but now I realise that the castle is in dare need of rennovation in a better style and the tower’s decoration is subpar as well. I like the overall shape but the textures are bland, there is little volume in the way it’s walls and corners are decorated. So came up (with a bit of internet inspiration) with something like this in the links and maybe in the future I’ll develop that variant completely and rebuild the whole thing.
