Stardew Valley 1.5 | All New Shortcuts | Community Upgrades
the latest starting value 1.5 update came with so many quality of life changes including a new community upgrade creating shortcuts around the world of stardew valley once you have finished the community center and fully upgraded your house you will get a new option at robin’s carpentary store community upgrades the first community upgrade is bullying pam a new house and the newly added second community upgrade is creating shortcuts around stardew valley and in this video i will show you every upgrade and help you determine if it’s worth your gold if you’re new to my channel please consider subscribing it really helps the channel alright let’s get started once you have upgraded pam’s house and you have 300 000 gold just laying around you can just purchase the shortcut upgrade at robin’s house naturally robin is more than happy to take our money and it will take three days for the new shortcuts to be created unfortunately she doesn’t tell us where the upgrades are so we will have to run around starry valley to find them finding all of the shortcuts wasn’t that tough most of the shortcuts are in places that make sense and you would expect a shortcut to be added so let’s go through all of them and see just how much time they can save us we will start at my favorite shortcut by far this shortcut is to the beach by this little house under money’s range there used to be bushes here that were blocking this pot robin removed these bushes and give us a shortcut straight to the beach this is actually quite a decent upgrade and will save you plenty of time going to the beach from your farm if you want to do some ocean fishing you can rush to the beach very early and get to your farm in time to sleep this will allow you to catch plenty of beach fish as you will be spending this of your day traveling this shortcut allows you to get to willy’s boat quicker you can feed all your animals check on your farm and make it to willy’s vote for 8 am to head over to ginger island this can help you get back to bed in time for the beach as a normal route from the beach to your farm is quite long this shortcut is pretty interesting unfortunately you cannot bring your horse up here but this is a shortcut from the town to the mine area it’s quite a good addition to the game and will definitely save you some time however the minecarts are just a much quicker alternative to getting to the mines from your farmhouse however i still think this shortcut has some good uses let’s say you went to the mines and got a couple of geodes you can then use this shortcut to get quickly to clint the blacksmith and process their sweet skills you got using the minecarts is probably faster but running there is much more scenic and i think i prefer it actually the next shortcut is actually very good robin added a wooden plank to allow us to come straight out of the mines onto the island for fishing this shortcut is excellent because you can use the minecarts from the bus station to go to the mines and then immediately exit and across the plank to get to one of the best fishing spots this will allow you to get to the fishing spot without walking around and wasting some precious time you’ll be able to catch more fish and really maximize your time now you can really stop fall on sturgeons and bring in that fishing money now this shortcut doesn’t really make sense to me from the pot that takes you to robin’s store and the mines there’s a new stairway going down to the road that the bus uses i know sometimes i’m too lazy to check for the forgeable goods here so maybe i can help with that but otherwise i’m not too sure about the shortcut i know that some people like to fill the tunnels with kegs and other artisan machines so this shortcut can maybe save you some time to go fill up your kegs or collect resist goods this is a shortcut from the jojo mart store to the quarry and the adventurous guild not too bad of a shortcut it opens the map more allowing you to save time when you are adventuring around stardew valley so i actually really like the shortcut you probably won’t find yourself using this one too often but when you are there it’s pretty nice to have this shortcut will allow you to get from the museum to the beach much faster unfortunately your horse won’t fit here but i still kind of like the shortcut maybe i will remember to check this part of the beach for coral and sea urchins now i think this shortcut just opens the map up quite a bit it’s just a little bit hidden from the beach perspective i wonder what happens to this shortcut if you did not repair the bridge connecting to the regular beach interesting so those are the shortcuts i found if i missed any please let me know in the comments below and please let me know which shortcut is your favorite i won’t lie i really like the beach shortcut the most so far now if there was some way to get to the desert quicker without using very expensive desert totems or without waiting for pam to decide to come to work that would be nice for sure to conclude i think all of these new show cards are definitely worth it however these shortcuts won’t majorly change the way you play the game and they won’t really alter your pathing by that much but they do open the map quite a bit since i’ve gotten these upgrades it makes the world seem less restrictive and you don’t need to work extremely far to get from one place to another like going from the blacksmith store to the fishing spot or to the beach it’s just quicker and you don’t need to go through pelican town so let’s answer the question are these shortcuts worth 300 000 gold well yes they are definitely worth it if you have the gold available but don’t get the upgrade if it will prevent you from purchasing seeds or upgrading your farm buildings and the horse will greatly reduce your travel time more than the shortcuts will so get a stable first as well thank you so much for watching this video if you like The shortcut up to Mountain is pretty usefull if you try complete Mister Qi challenge Fishing… Because you cant catch legend2 without catch 4 other fish.. so after you catch Angler you go up and strike in the Legend 2 spot..
I’ve played this game for 200hours and completed the museum, and yet I’ve never known about this…
I only knew about the one the goes to the tunnel entrance, I never noticed the others. The most useful one does seem to be the one to the beach. I have two games going on right now and the shortcuts are more or less useless in the one where I have them unlocked as I have an obelisk to the beach and a return scepter, the minecarts are obviously unlocked by that point.
In my other game I'm at the first day of fall of year one and it is my best game so far but I don't see myself being able to pay for the shortcuts soon or even have the option to. Although now that I know buying Pam a house lead to that option I won't wait long once I get the option.
I should have watched all your stardew video when I found your channel instead of waiting for when youtube suggest one.
it would be cool if the shortcuts had been a bunch of new rail cart reachable options.
I think Concern ape needs stop putting useless things in the game
the shortcuts would be better earlier game. In the late game I am hardly fishing anymore, the minecart works so much better for most connections and while the shortcut to the beach is better e.g. faster access to the boat, the time gain is not that extensive; you dont need to cross through half of the town, but you need to cross your whole farm instead, as most farms have the house in the top right. If it is the river farm and it is packed with buildings it will even cost you time.
I would have priced each shortcut around 1k-3k and made it available from the start with additional gains, e.g. when they remove the wood from the beach they give you 50 wood. Now it will be like the cinema, just something you do because you don´t have enough use of money.
These shortcuts should be in the base game, why they cost 300k after you've basically already finished the game and don't need to fish anymore amazes me.

You get this upgrade way too late for them to be really useful. Hope there are mods that make these upgrades come with a new save file

I actually glitched in the quarry shortcut
you can go to the Ginger Island by bying obelisk from Wizard for 1 million gold, it works just like teleporters
the community upgrades is a missed opportunity, i wanted to build sam a skate park as he complains about having nowhere to skate

In-universe, though? Robin is crazy charging 300,000 for this work, in terms of materials and labor.

wait what?! this has been out for half a year and I'm only seeing this video and learning about shortcuts now??? I feel like there shouldve been dialogue from Robin or something to let us know about this
i have many hours in this game but i never bothered to buy a stable. its not that much faster, there are paths it cant travel and later you have minecarts and teleports. I never felt the need for the horse.
Also the beach one helps for when there’s events you don’t want to attend

He should have just made a even larger log or something which is the next step above the log to unlock these.

I wish the shortcuts were available as a community center reward. I never use panning except on Ginger Island so it could be a good replacement.
The changes i'd make to this would be
Adding a shortcut from your farm to secret forest
Change the cost to 10,000
make it available for purchase 1 day after you first enter the secret forest
Of course, I understand everything… but some of these shortcuts should already be open, or you could do it yourself.
because by the time there is an extra 300,000 gold, these paths will most likely no longer be needed. (2 or 3+ years in the game).
Right now I have lived for a year and these paths indicated here would be very useful. I feel frustrated, because in these places it really looks like there is a passage or a plank that can be made after all the upgrades at home. The only hope is blueberry jelly… I'm tired of farming these kegs and preserves. There's always a shortage of wood.
