hey guys welcome back to another episode my name is Mobby and today I want to check out the Terraria board game Kickstarter reveal so there’s only seven more days to go if you choose to back this and just right out the gate I’m not sponsored At All by this it’s just like Terraria is a huge part of the growth of this channel when it first launched and I really love board games so this is something I looked at a little bit but now I want to Deep dive with you guys and then I’m going to start backing this and I can’t wait to play the game so let’s look at what the game is all of the kickstarter content Etc so hey if you’re into board games in like Terraria this might be interesting so let’s go ahead and sit back relax and just get into it and learn what it’s all about so terrari the board game it says here one to four players 120 Minutes that’s a long time so because I think they’re trying to put as much of the game as possible in meaning you have your character starting from scratch you’re probably building things you’re running around the world you’re killing bosses and I know that this has a couple of endgame sort of goals different ways to win so and I believe the whole game might be Co-op I’m not sure if there’s little ways to like mess with others cuz the whole game is you know the whole point of the game is to win so I don’t know if one person winning equals victory for all so I go ahead maybe we can see something here so let’s let’s get started here so the story yes realogic oh look at all this stuff here so this is the uh the board what it’s going to be you can see King Slime the eye the brain the be Queen and then we have the eye and they have the Wall of Flesh so it looks like it’s going to have all bosses from pre hard mode uh maybe the Hard Mode stuff is later if the game does well maybe they’ll do some sort of expansion or something but yeah you can see here a couple of things so yeah so this is potentially what it’s going to be looking like it looks like with two players uh a lot of lot of things here a lot of little enemy things or maybe that’s like I don’t know what this is here a lot of tokens you’re building the map procedurally as you go on looks like there’s Overworld with biomes uh freaking Caverns the underground ET so okay there’s a lot of things here one to floor 120 First Kickstarter we’ve got you color ver so yeah if you never seen a Kickstarter before you pretty much give them money and then hopefully they give you the stuff but a lot of companies that do Kickstart stuff they usually have a good background so you’re most likely going to get the stuff you know one four World exploration Co-op so it looks like Co-op no matter what dice combat dice combat so I have a chance to just get wrecked huh deck building woo deck building and boss miniatures toar the board game is a Cooperative adventure for one four players based on the smashit Indie video game whether you’re a novice terrarian or longtime fan you can now experience relics and Masterpiece on your tabletop Solo or with friends so I’m planning on definitely kickstarting this to play with my own friends but I think I do want to show you guys an actual playthrough so I might end up um probably playing it on tabletop simulator with an easy way to record it um but yeah let’s see with simple deck building as his heart and a flexible action point system choose your own play style and create memorable moments as you dig fights explore and build so digging first is it going to come with just meeples like this cuz I’m a little uh disappointed obviously your character changes as you play with the armors and stuff but they could have did more than just a meeple right mine ores and like like maybe they could have had like a basic like guide person mine ores and gems as you spelunk Excavating tunnels to find Subterranean resources and item fil look at this it looks like you put like a tile oh my God it it’s it’s exactly what you would do you build and then you put like torches around fights defeat enemies to collect loots and obtain new cards trigger epic boss showdowns featuring modular boss Miniatures o what do they mean by that explore using a simple and flexible action point system explore everchanging biomes creating a unique world every time you play so a lot of EX you know a lot of replayability if you play a lot build craft power powerful new armor sets and tools and weapons build a base to unlock new crafting opportunities and NPC bonuses so they’re trying to put as much as the game in here as possible win be vigilant Time Marches On and the world is dangerous to win you complete your chosen objective before objectives Before Time runs out or your respawns are depleted oh you have a certain number of lives okay so it feels like Terraria distilling the fun and digital gameplay Loop while adding a satisfying tactility and inperson excitement of mon t top tabletop game so whether you’ve played a video game or not clear your table invite your friends and bring a fun terrar to game night so it says one to 20 one to four players when I get this myself I’ll probably do one play through on my own just to like learn the rules and get it going and then I’ll bring my friends over and I can teach him everything so it’s going to be a smoother experience what’s in the box 86 unique biome tiles nice six modular boss Miniatures each with unique boss cards and tokens now transparent now with little bees oh that’s cute oh that’s what they mean by modular so the more I’m assuming the more damage you do you’re going to end up like taking this apart and doing more damage yeah here it is track boss stats by taking them apart to convert their forms is it just these ones though doesn’t I don’t think anyone else like actually loses Parts well I guess the eater loses Parts um I wonder how modular that is like there’s no way it’s magnetic or anything 47 transparent armor set cards wait you oh obvious okay so it would be I guess it would be too much for you to change a piece out little by little so it looks like you just put like a uh transpar you just you just layer it over your character which works out well cool so you have lots of different God oh I’m going to play the terrarum board game I’m going to go ranger build this time transparent minion cards as well 200 action and debuff cards now on 350 GSM paper nice that’s freaking that’s that’s a pretty thick it’s pretty thick it’s good for like uh like playing cards in general you got 30 chest cards 41 objective cards objective cards wow okay 167 equipment cards 64 consumables also 3mm thick board mini map board with time tracker 10 house tiles 162 enemy token types oh my God it it looks like a lot of setup though huh 33 unique enemy types H okay and uh so so 33 unique so 33 types of enemies 162 like you’re going to have like blue slimes yellow slimes pinky of course Pinkie is going to probably be in there uh 150 tokens overall okay got it four character boards with Mana and health tracking cubes so different colors I’m assuming they’re all the same four uh tracking dials for your probably your health and then the rule book it comes with a beastiary crafting menu crafting menu four double-sided car I was not expecting crafting to part of the board game 15 character dice looks like you have all the you have a you have a D6 you have a 12-sided 4 Etc and then 15 enemy dice 24 resource dice four wooden character pieces oh actually they look different okay thank god well they should have this showing in that picture up there maybe that picture was like earlier but yeah this looks much better and more ah and more organization built in game trades keeping Terraria organized is easy game Trad system so game trades is like probably they’re working with them obviously and if this comes with it great wonderful why back now get involved with the campaign reveal social goals okay Deluxe content six so um the deluxe edition so we’re also going to look at the the prices as well and decide if we’re going to get the regular edition the deluxe edition I don’t think this game is going to be like sold in stores or anything so it’s probably going to be Kickstarter exclusive and then they’ll probably be selling it on a website very limited quantities and then there’s people who are going to be scalping in so be warned if you want to get this you better get it like now like back and now um so the the deluxe one gives you color cast modular bosses Miniatures perfect for your shelf and ideal for painting so if you get the regular edition are you not going to get the modulars maybe they’re just going to be like small thingies premium thickness dual layer recess player yep top quality blah blah blah okay the deluxe won’t be entering distribution after the campaign and will not be available okay so the deluxe so they’re saying if the deluxe one is only for Kickstarter they might be selling the regular one in stores which is good thank God if the regular one is in stores at least people will be able to play it guarantee your copy it will be produced in a single print run no plans to reprints nice exclusive add-on the world mat H you’ve got the option to add the giant neoprene World mat only available during this campaign well I know it depends what it looks like how much it is and if it’s worth it I guess save money boss Miniatures character mats wooden pieces uh will be available in the future but at a higher price well saying you know bye now guys support an indie publisher oh there you go pledge levels so you could just you know if you if you don’t want the game at all you could just play a dollar to get access to some stuff however the gold pledge so we’re I’m looking at US dollars for me 80 bucks oh this is deluxe edition gold pledge wait is there nothing in between is there nothing in between maybe oh I see what they’re doing okay Kickstarter is only selling the deluxe edition when it is in store that’s the base Edition I think that’s what they’re showing here right so you get the deluxe edition yay for 80 bucks that’s actually not bad for an a board game that you can like that looks like it’s going to have a ton of replayability like I thought this was going to be like 120 for like the base Edition so I’m glad 80 bucks is like it’s perfect for me but we’ll see what the other sort of price points are going to be at so you get all applicable stretch goals which is interesting we’ll look at the bottom to see what they got and then all Kickstarter exclusive stuff that box looks sick shipping not included God dang it God dang it and it looks like because like it’s a showing uh pounds first uh it’s probably going to be a lot to ship it to America all right anyway hellstone pledge this is double the money but what do you get let’s see so you get the character board which are stit s edged H wooden Character Pack neoprene dice tray oh showing right here uh action card sleeve pack which is what uh so this is the dice tray these are the character boards oh so instead of like a wooden thing these are like mats but oh that’s interesting I’m I’m not going to spend 150 bucks I’ll tell you that I’m getting the regular one okay and also you can add on the world play man man I really wish this was in already cuz look how cool this is obviously you start here right oh looks like there’s no Sky there’s no sky in this game I guess it would be a little weird right it’s enough that it’s down here you don’t really need the sky stuff I suppose uh but yeah looks like you have NPCs here objectives cool this was this is cool but no probably not going to pay the extra for that stretch goals exclusive the vanity set food Barbarian vanity set the safe man oh wait so it says uh 1 Point mil okay how much should we how much do they already get here so they already got 1.4 million so that means that stretch goal down here how far was that 1.4 million that’s crazy isn’t it 1.4 million so this thing is already unlocked it just doesn’t show here they probably didn’t update it so we’re going to get the vanity sets so I’m assuming this probably you may you might have another overlay on top of these right so you get vanity set vanity set for chicken bones vanity set for your risor and then uh right here you get a foil box cover ooh kickart exclusive so what like the whole box is going to be shiny all cards upgraded for more thickness already unlocked free Christmas promo pack oh what’s that like consumables weapons and armors nice even thicker okay so that’s unlocked remember everything that’s 1.4 million and below is unlocked right now dice upgraded to marbled acrylic it’s fine wooden wizard added to the thingy um so character so it looks like it’s just an extra like a like a monopoly piece you to switch out right transparent slime Tombstone so how does this work I wonder if it’s going to be in the game where you die and then it’s just there or maybe in this game like do you leave your items on the ground I don’t know Health Cube upgrad to wooden heart man Cube updated to Star new armor set snow pay to win just kidding it’s already it’s unlocked so screen printed time tracker screen printed time tracker Moon and Sunside oo objective mat added card stock okay so this is the regular one for card stock okay got it foil the King Slime boss card huh weird NPC mats card stock included yo-yo character added yoyo there’s Yoo yo-yos in this game nice custom inventory dice Terraria tree replaces the zero Halloween promo objective and NPC mats upgraded to punch board Queen be spawn B tokens upgraded to miniature so oh okay so instead of huh this is kickstar exclusive so I guess if you get the regular game they’re going to be tokens but now they’re going to be small Miniatures that are along beside her okay screen printed stuff as well more wooden characters even better wooden characters ooh developer vanity set redit redit red digits developer s SS this person came to my stream one time I remember I was streaming and came and she showed up developer Loki sets Jin maren crowno GRS the Great Lane fours I’m gonna I’m gonna sne social goals okay yeah you can do some stuff here blah blah blah community calendar okay so on June 21st the campaign ends and in a couple of days it looks like there’s going to be an AMA interesting and then right now ingame Build contest which is happening right now oh it it finished a couple days ago as of recording this video how to play okay so now that we saw everything now we can get some more information of how the game play the game Flow is going to work which is pretty interesting so you choose how many of the four objective change dig fight build and explore you’ll attempt to complete what do you mean to to win finish them before time or the shared respawn pull Runs Out feeling brave you can attempt defeat the Wall of Flesh the hardest boss for immediate Victory so we can choose oh okay so we can see here there’s Stacks so each stack is going to be a digging a fighting a building and exploring you’re going to randomly choose or you choose the ones you want to do for that playthrough you do all four of those or you go beat the Wall of Flesh I like that that seems fun it keeps it nice and open which is how the game is you play the way you want right next you generate a hidden mini map hidden this will uh dictate the later uh the layout of the world’s biomes oh I see so this is a Tracker that’s going to be here and it looks like you’re going to randomly put tokens so when you go to a new spot you start here oh I see so at the ends are always oceans so you’re going to have small ones in between and you don’t know if it’s a desert you don’t know if it’s a jungle you don’t know if it’s a snow biome that’s cool okay that’s a good way of doing it I like that at the start of each round Advance the time tracker representing the day and night cycle of the game players take to simultaneously draw cards from your deck which is the deck building portion and plan with your teammates how to spend action points generated maybe you’ll explore biomes and loots use your equipment to convert action points at the Dig chop and fights by playing cards to benefit you and other players you can create memorable moments so we can see a couple of stuff here so we have explore which costs an action point Dodge action points or two of these Explore More or uh assist action points and choose another player to draw a card and some other stuff here by crafting better equipment you’ll be able to use your action points more efficiently add new more powerful action cards to your deck and scrap the ones you no longer need to customize your deck for your preferred play style and character class fight over 30 enemy types using a quick simple and roll system roll your weapon attack Dice and gets an enemy’s defense dice for any one of your results equal or higher it deals the damage upgrade your weapons to access more powerful attacks use action cards to influence Battles by weakening your fellows buffing or rrolling your attacks and more so we can see here this is the sword I don’t know what the hell this I part means but it looks like you use an action point to roll three Dice and then here is your character and then you can see there’s tokens here with one life and one life I don’t know what these mean and then you have different types of attacks maybe when enemies attack simply reverse the dice system roll their attacks against your defense dice by crafting armor sense you can bolster your defense combination oh I see you’ll bolster your defense die as well as adding other permanent Bon such as which has increased hand size or debuff immunity look at this uh Place platform pieces and rope tokens to move around more quickly unlock access to better equipment and armor by building houses that provide crafting stations open chests to obtain non-craft equipment so like like specific stuff down there right like you might be able to find the boots uh single use consumables and extra resources spawn NPCs Etc okay so this is what the player board is if we look up close so you’re going to be overlaying you see this is your defense you can see how much uh action points you have how your hand size your little guy your health points uh looks like you’re unlocking new stuff here these are resources so you have one wood one animal parts gold Etc or copper I suppose draw sword axe pickaxe others huh are you only going to have like there’s a specific spot for a sword I wonder if that matters if you’re going magic or anything but yeah you got axe pickaxe another the game features six bosses each unique has a unique spawn criteria what what’s the king of slime you must defeat like a 50 slimes in the world and when summon you’ll use a modular boss figure nice rule book there’s a rule book here I’m going to read that alone don’t worry about that so here’s a playthrough video you guys can watch there’s more previews looking at the first stuff here oh here’s the okay this ain’t that bad 16 bucks so it’s going to be almost 100 bucks please know blah blah shipping and region breakdown blah blah blah blah blah friendly shipping okay so it looks good I think that’s it that is probably it okay so as mention we’re going for the gold pledge the gold pledge so it’s estimated to be delivered in June 2025 so that’s the that’s the one thing about kickstarters if you guys aren’t aware they take a long time usually to you know do their thing however these guys got a lot of money they’re backed and supported by the real Dev team um so I the the real Dev team and Publishers trust these guys to ship out their thing so I’m going to go ahead and do it too so I guess next year when the game uh when the when the board game actually gets released I’m going to do a full play through uh probably on this channel and uh we’ll do a review Etc so that’s it guys but yeah if you want more there’s the hellstone pledge so it’s way more that’s I’m not going to do that that’s not worth it dude I’m not doing that but yes okay let me know what you guys think about terrari the board game are you guys a fan of board games if so what do you think about the overall design how it looks I think it could look better but that’s just my personal look like my opinion but overall the gaml is going to be completely fine it looks to have a sort of openness random sort of objectives at the start which makes things different every single time so I think I think this is going to be really fun the 2 hour is a little scary but then how else are you going to combine everything Terraria has obviously there’s no hard mode stuff there’s no Sky stuff but hey if this game does really well and people love it maybe they’ll come out with either an expansion or something like that to include the crazy stuff Moon Lord anyways thanks for watching I hope you guys
