some people may think the best armor before any boss in Terraria is jungle armor or fossil armor or maybe even platinum armor with its 20 defense but there is an armor set that I believe to be much better this is ancient Shadow Armor it can only be gotten in a corruption world with a 0.19% chance to drop from either of Soul enemies this armor set grants 19 defense which although may seem worse than platinum armor at first you’ll also see that this armor gives you a 15% increased crit strike chance and increase movement and acceleration speed which I think is pretty awesome
Ancient Shadow Armor is in my opinion the best armor before any boss in terraria. Its got good defence and stat boosts.

Listen it's a very good set, the problem is it's rarity. When you compare it to jungle or platinum armor it's much harder to obtain.
I don't think people don't consider this armor due to it's strength, im pretty sure it's not considered due to its rarity. Eaters are annoying enough to take out early game, why waste time farming them for slightly better armor when you can just probably prepare for early bosses in other ways in the same time
I mean if you are willing to go fishing, you can get molten armor (mined with the fishing pickaxe)
I farmed 3 sets of these worst thing ever
Eh. Even if you fish to pass time its never worth it to go for this relic
Nah, Gladiator Armor is best with Knockback negation
