Stardew Valley Crystalarium – Top 10 Gems and Minerals! – KitaDollx Games

Hello friends and welcome back today we’ll be looking at stardo Valley crystalarium and I’m going to give you my list of top 10 gems and minerals to duplicate in these bad boys of course it’s a little bit subjective but check out my picks and see if you agree with my choices if you find this video interesting please like And subscribe for more like this in the future with that being said let’s get into it first off what even is a crystalarium apparently stardy Valley crystal growth technology has surpassed our own you can throw a gem or mineral into the crystalarium and it will duplicate itself after some amount of time depending on the starting material often times the more expensive gems will take the longest but that’s not always strictly the case the crystalarium is a piece of equipment that is craftable though you’ll probably get your first one or two as rewards from the museum donations or completing the 25,000 gold vault bundle the ingredients for crafting the crystarium are pretty steep and you’ll need to have reached level 9 mining so don’t expect to be churning out loads of duplicated gems too soon each will require 99 Stone five gold bars two aridium bars and one battery pack the aridium bars will probably be the most limiting factor for crafting your own until you can regularly delve into the skull Cavern with that in mind you probably won’t have many crystarium other than the first one or two until about Midway through your stardew playthrough so what are the best ways to use your first crystalarium and what should you do when you get more there’s a lot of gems and minerals out there and many of them don’t have much use outside of their first Museum donation but it’s not always about just pure gold output some can make specific clothing items in the sewing machine and there are plenty of specific gems that are requested by fish ponds as well so feel free to dedicate a crystarium to Granite if you just can’t get enough spook fish or maybe you just love mudstone for the Aesthetics in your inventory I won’t judge all of the values that I mentioned will be base prices but expect a blanket Improvement of plus 30% if you take gemologist the replication times for calculating gold per day are based on the reference from the stardy valy wiki after some testing though I don’t know if they’re all correct as of update 1.6 for example emeralds are listed as taking 2 days and 2 hours but in my tests they were ready and waiting for me first thing in the morning after 2 days I think the times are generally still approximately correct but there may be some G stones that perform a bit better than indicated just something to keep in mind I should also note that Prismatic shards and Pearls cannot be duplicated in the crystarium so don’t expect to see them on the list it’s a bummer but they’re meant to be rare so I can’t really be too upset about it with that said let’s take a look at my top 10 crystarium picks but first an honorable mention to Marble this one might come as a surprise for some but I think that it’s worth noting marble is a geode mineral so it’s not up for consideration based on its gold output in fact the sell price of 110 gold and roughly 3 and 1/2 day replication time puts it in the bottom third of all crystarium options for making gold so why am I bringing it up there’s a lot of geode minerals and most of them are pretty useless as it turns out marble is one of the few that is used in a recipe specifically the marble brazer if the museum donations have taught us anything it’s that RNG can be a killer if you plan to make any marble brazers make sure that you save at least one of these to duplicate because you never know when you’ll see another one drop from a geode now on to the real list starting with number 10 we have Earth crystal the Earth crystal is relatively common and you can find it just laying on the floor in the mines which same Harvey come pick me up it has a sell price of 5050 gold so it’s not going to be the best Money Maker but with a replication time of around half a day it’s still in the top 15 for gold per day it’s used to make mayonnaise machines and in building the Earth Obelisk unless you’re a mayonnaise Tycoon you probably won’t need to be replicating these for crafting materials but you may want to consider it for making friends the Earth crystal if universally liked with only lonus and Pierre disliking it but does Pierre even deserve a liked gift anyway it makes for a pretty cheap gift and it replicates pretty fast so making and carrying a stack of these around could be an option for quickly gaining friends around town number nine Frozen tiar the Frozen tier is a lot like the Earth crystal it’s more expensive but also takes longer to replicate it’s another almost universally liked gift like the Earth crystal with the exception that Leah dislikes it and Sebastian loves it it just barely beats out the Earth crystal for per day but you don’t have to check on the crystarium as often to retrieve it so maybe that perk is worth it otherwise it’s only used in crafting to make the warrior ring and maybe a fish pond request so if you aren’t giving these away to make friends you’ll probably just be selling them for decent money number eight Aquamarine the aquamarine is the first gemstone on this list it has a sell price of 180 gold and a replication time that takes just over a day and a half this will net you about 115 gold per day if you can get the timing right and harvest it as soon as it’s done gold per day will drop if you’re not around the farm for a midday Harvest though like most gemstones it’s another almost universally liked gift with Clint Emily and the dwarf loving it you can use this in the Forge to get a critical hit chance bonus on your weapon though I find a critical hit to be lackluster compared to the other enchantments this is another ingredient in the marble brazer but also much more commonly found than marble is number seven amethyst the amethyst is a solid choice for a crystarium gem it sells for 100 gold and replicates in just under a day the replication time means that you can Harvest these every morning without having to get the timing right so you’ll be able to get really close to the theoretical 106 gold per day this has the same Universal liked gift list of the aquamarine with the addition of being loved by Abigail somebody’s got a feeder and it may as well be you at the forge amethyst increases your weapon knockback which I think is often underrated stacking up knockback on the right weapon can blast your enemies clear off the screen and possibly out of aggro range number six star shards star shards sell for 500 gold with about a 3 and 1/2 day replication time giving them the second highest gold per day at 144 unfortunately that’s about all all they have going for them their partial day replication means that you’ll have to time out your Harvest to get the most money out of these they are universally disliked even if you were willing to part with a 500 gold gift overall they can bring in some decent money but there’s a better option for gold per day up the list so I wouldn’t really recommend these unless you just don’t have anything better on hand number five quartz quartz only sells for 25 gold so even with this super fast replication of 7 hours you’re not going to want to ship these for cash they do have a couple particular uses that might be worth more than their sell price though the first option is to make refined quartz from them this isn’t the most efficient way to get refined quartz but depending on how much trash you’ve saved up it may be the best way early in the game what might be more valuable is trading quartz for bombs at the desert Trader five quarts will get you one bomb which would translate into only 125 gold that you could have gotten from selling those five quarts this is a pretty great deal considering the dwarf sells bombs for 1,000 gold each and even in year 1 it would cost 750 gold to make one with the material purchased from the blacksmith if you like bombing your way through the mines and don’t want to burn through all of your iron and coal quartz from the crystarium could equate to over 600 gold per day saved versus purchasing them from the dwarf number four Ruby and emerald these two gems are both worth 250 gold and they both replicate in about 2 days at 120 gold per day these will net some decent cash on their own but they can also be used for weapon enchants in the Forge and can be traded at the desert Trader the Ruby boosts weapon damage and the emerald boosts weapon speed when forged I think these are probably the most consistently good weapon enchantments and I’ll usually mix and match these two depending on the base weapon stats at the desert Trader the Ruby can be traded for spicy eel while Emerald can be traded for cheese by the time you reach the desert you’re probably not hurting for cheese but the spicy eel gives a really handy plus one buff to luck and speed great for more trips to the mines or skull Cavern number three Fire Quartz Fire Quartz sells for 100 gold each and replicates in just under 22 hours like the amethyst it should always be ready for you to harvest once per day making it very convenient without having to worry about getting the timing right with your crystarium the gold per day is decent but if you’re replicating Fire Quartz it’s probably for reasons other than money it’s used in crafting slime presses dehydrators and refined quartz the dehydrator is a new piece of artisan equipment that can be used to process fruits and mushrooms it’s one of the fastest ways to turn large amounts of produce into Artisan Goods so it can be a big money maker what you might need larger volumes of Fire quartz for is actually the refined quartz though the Fire Quartz makes three refined Quartz in a furnace so it’s much more efficient than normal quartz coal wise and TimeWise especially after getting heavy furnaces there are plenty of uses for refined quarts so if you plan to cover your farm in Crystal flooring make a solar panel Farm or even turn your house into a greenhouse with hundreds of garden pods you may want to start replicating Fire Quartz number two diamonds diamonds are the most valuable gem that can be replicated with the crystarium with a 750 gold sell price with a 5day replication time these also take the top spot for gold per day at 150 and on top of that diamonds are universally liked though they’re pretty pricey as far as gifts go they are required for several fish pond quests they’re used to get the diamond Hunter book and power which gives you a higher chance of mining diamonds they’re also used in crafting to make the Ring of Yoba geod Crusher and fairy dust I’ve never really been a big fan of the Ring of Yoba and the fairy dust rarely seems worthwhile but the geode Crusher which doesn’t require coal as of update 1.6 could really save you some time and money if you plan to crack open all of your geod it will save you the trip to see Clint and the 25 gold fee if the shop is even open with all of these uses you’ll definitely want to stock up so how did Diamond not get the number one spot coming in at number one Jade the Jade sells for 200 gold and replicates in roughly 1.67 days this will net you about 120 gold per day if you were to sell them but I urge you not to sell them you can use them in the Forge to enchant your weapon with bonus critical damage but wait don’t use them for that either what really makes these so valuable is what they can be traded for on Sundays the desert Trader will trade one staircase for each Jade the staircase is a craftable item used to place a staircase on the ground inside the mine it acts like a ladder letting you progress to the next floor these are particularly valuable in skull Cavern as the dungeon resets every day and you have a limited time to reach deeper floors getting further into skull Cavern will be needed for Keys Challenge and secret note number 10 which both offer specific rewards there’s a chance to spawn treasure rooms which actually have some really valuable loot including Auto Grabbers Auto pets golden animal crackers Prismatic shards or even another crystarium in addition the chance to spawn aridium nodes increases the further down into skull Cavern you go you’ll need lots of aridium to make more crystarium to make more Jade to go deeper into skull Cavern to get more aridium to make more crystarium to make more Jade to go deeper into wait okay um but in all seriousness I won’t go into the uses but you’ll probably want as much aridium ore as you can get to build staircases you need 99 Stone each and if you’re going deep into skull Cavern you’ll probably want more Stone than you can get mining this means that each staircase you get from Jade would save you the cost of 99 stone at Robins which is 1,980 gold in year 1 and 9,900 gold each in year two if you don’t need this staircases they can probably be thrown into a deconstructor to produce 99 Stone which could save you some money if you need stone for other purposes in the end things like aridium or some of the treasure room Awards just can’t regularly be bought with gold so Jade can beat out any other gem that you plan to throw in a shipping bin once you’ve had your fill of skull Cavern you can always switch to diamonds for quick easy money but until then I would stockpile Jade and prepare for a good luck day so so as always I want to know what you guys think what do you think of crystarium do you think that they’re worth the cost did I miss something about them that makes them great or is there another gem or mineral that should have made the list let me know in the comments if you make crystall Arium a big part of your farm or if they’re just an afterthought if you made it to the end thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed the video or learned anything new please give it a like And subscribe or come say hello to me on Twitch otherwise until next time goodbye

  1. Yeah, the moment I got my hands on my first Crystalarium (via a weekly quest), I immediately started growing jades with it, just so I could get a decent supply of staircases for my first deep Skull Cavern run. So I'm not surprised that jade was your #1.

  2. I would add Basalt to this list as well because of Lava Eel ponds!

i usually only duplicate jade and ruby for the Desert Trader. In my current 1.6 playthrough i have a bunch of golden cracker Lava Eel ponds that give me more Spicy Eels than i could ever eat so now im only duplicating jade xD

If u want a bunch of Lava Eel ponds, Basalt duping is needed in the beginning to get the ball rolling but then the ponds should start giving u heaps of magma geodes which can be cracked for basalt haha

  3. Genuinely helpful. I was really curious about whether it was worth putting anything other than jades or diamonds in them. LOVE the letter from the rock eater at the beginning too

  4. Nice video! But I think you're underselling just how useful Jade -> Staircase -> Deconstructor -> 99 Stone can be, especially when somebody is trying to set up large amounts of Crystalariums, Preserves Jars, Cheese Presses, or even Deluxe Retaining Soil for large sheds of garden pots. Eventually you'll end up with more stone than you know what to do with, but when you're still expanding it's so much easier than collecting it all yourself and cheaper than buying it from Robin.

But even with all that said, Diamonds take the #1 spot for me for a reason you didn't mention: It can be traded to the Desert Trader for Triple Shot Espressos! This is meaningfully easier than growing and brewing your own coffee beans— each TSE lasts 6 in-game hours, so you can get coverage from morning to midnight with 3 TSE a day. Each TSE is equivalent to 3 regular coffees, which are five coffee beans each. Each plant yields ~4 beans every 2 days, roughly ~2 beans a day. This works out to managing 23 coffee plants to average ~46 beans a day, brewing them into 9 coffee, and then cooking them into TSEs.

Or you could set up 15 Diamond Crystalariums to get ~3 diamonds a day, trade them, and enjoy +1 speed for 18 hours a day. You could just buy coffee from Gus for 300g/each, making TSEs cost 900g/each, but Diamonds sell for 750g/each without Gemologist so they're cheaper, and even at Gemologist's 974g/each I'd argue that the convenience of not having to cook it all into TSEs yourself is worth the 74g. I don't have numbers for comparison to a Hot Java Ring, but there are plenty of worthwhile uses for the ring slot. (And if you're playing with friends, all of this is per player!)
