Are the New Stardew Valley Crops Really That Bad?
With how little the new crops added in the 1.6 update sell for, a lot of people are left wondering if they’re worth using at all. Let’s take a closer look to see if there’s anything worth redeeming!

Hi
Carrots are meta, change my mind
🦀
Carrots are a good early source of early game energy.
5 views in 1 minute? mustve fell off
??? the new crops are great
Im on console, so i can't even play 1.6😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
“And the romancables who act like kids” 😂
I thought you gonna make all mastery guide
It actually threw me for a loop that we didn't have carrots in Stardew Valley before this update! My favorite veggie lacking in one of my favorite (farming) games! How did I not realize we didn't have carrots until now xD
I'm happy we have carrots in SV now, even if they may or may not be that good.
odd, I really like them
There's a really good mod for the new crops called Hidden Crop Recipes (found on Nexusmods) that adds cooking recipes for all the new crops. The new crops are great, but having them involved in cooking makes them feel more integrated into the game for me. Also if you're speedy with unlocking the greenhouse, Getting Racoon shop open before winter is very possible, and Powdermelon seeds for pinecones is probably one of the best shop deals in the game.
I, for one, thought they were fun new discoverable items. I don't think everything needs to "add" so much to a game that it upsets balance or becomes a new big money maker. I feel like it should be said that carrots and broccoli used to be added in in the old PPJA crops mods, and carrots grew in three days there, too. For free items, I think they're a good time investment.
On one hand I'm relieved we don't need to cook more recipes for perfection, but….. on the other hand it's kinda sad these plants aren't used in any dishes.
Like c'mon it's the carrot and broccoli!😢

It's actually a full week before the next season
So it starts at day 21 of any season
Admittedly, whether or not theyre generally good, they were a lifesaver during my "no buying seeds from pierre" run. (Seeds only because I want backpacks, bouquets, and ai refuse to play traveling merchant roulette for that long for saplings)
I’ve never been this early to a salmence video 😮
Carrots make good money but if you don't have a lot of maple seeds, you will have to sacrifice on average 51% of you carrots to put them in a seed maker if you want to maintain your field full of it.
That cut your income in half
It make me think that carrots are similar to sweet gem berries, a crop that have a really good g/day but you can't really abuse it (until you get tones of maple seed atleast)
I use them for making preserves.
Carrots are just so broken for energy early game, which has always been my biggest struggle. Before that first (or even second) star drop it feels like I’m always running out of energy because I don’t have money for salads or cows for cheese yet. Carrots with their quick grow time fixed this for me!
I think it's worth saying that the governor likes summer squash. It's a good option for the luau!
Big fan of the new ones.
