Pumpkin and frost moons are both intended to be done post-planterra and Pre-Golem but most players don’t do them when your supposed to
You don't even really need to do the invasions. You can just go from golem to moon lord of you want.
You have a point. However, I think it disagree. Yes You can go from Gollum to Moon Lord in like an hour. But I see it more as the payoff for all of the grinding, all the exploration, all the everything pretty much. Like “hey you just went through this whole game doing all kinds of cool stuff now let’s test your skill.” But like i said you have point.
A lot of the bosses especially in higher difficulties require a lot of prep, up until golem where it becomes a boss and invasion rush to the finish. I personally like the endgame because there isn’t much prep to do unlike certain bosses like the WoF or Plantera. Yeah it’s a hot take, but the game gives you a TON of weapon and accessory variety at this point. I like how it’s one last sprint to the finish line, but you do still have to prepare for moon lord, and even fishron and empress can all be fought before or after golem, leading to more variety or coming back to them once the player feels more competent.
