Pumpking to the lich is a prime case of 'You vs the guy he tells you not to worry about.'
Waffletime here, consider equipping that Phylactery accessory the Lich dropped. It gives you an auto-revive that automatically saves you from death once every 5 minutes, and also provides increase life regeneration when not on cooldown. Given how often you a) lose life and b) die, BOTH of these abilities would be incredibly good for you.
