There's a lot of weirdness you find when you're a resource pack maker. For example, there are two snowy grass texture files, called grass_block_snow and grass_side_snowed the difference is that the former is smoother than other dirt blocks. Also, bamboo planks and bamboo logs rotated horizontally, uses the same texture except for 3 or 4 stray pixels

The debug commands are amazing. I've just realized we tend to focus on bugs but there are also wonderful things implemented behind the scenes.
I know you are joking about it being absolutely terrible, but I like it. It isn’t incredibly perfect like a billion dollar company’s game, but rather an Indie game with a small team that still make “mistakes“. Not to mention asymmetry can be great and Minecraft has a lot of it, consistently inconsistent.
