I think you should separate all the rooms with doors. Won’t help with spawns but at least you won’t get stuck in your bedroom all the time
Once this series ends you should do one large like four hour movie of all the highlights and the craziness. It would be so action packed and crazy. lol also fix your crops please!! The watermelon doesn’t need to be next to water. It just needs to be in a four block radius of water. And obviously your other crops are in the way of the watermelon’s growing.
Use string to spawnproof the house, its not too ugly

Great series mate I think you could put walls/fences with fence gates to divide your house up like Calvin has in his from the fog series to stop the dwellers getting to you. Not sure if it stops them completely but would give you time to get away. could at least put one to block off the fireplace part of your house as they seem to spawn there a lot.
Glad you managed to get melons eventually but if you want another option for the glistening melons then farmers have a chance to sell them or golden carrots at max level. Also the melons dont need the water right next to them like sugarcane does and they need empty spaces around them to grow. You can also use fortune to break the melons to get more.

Also, I know it'll be a bit of work, but putting bottom half slabs as your flooring will mob proof your house (it might look a little wonky). I'm not sure the monsters spawning mechanics are the same as base games spawning mechanics though.

Melons need an empty block next to them to grow, and the actual melon cannot be grown using bonemeal

You have to have a spot for the melon to spawn. So where the crops are next to the melon plant, they will not grow.

melons and pumpkins need a dirt block beside the plant in order to grow

You should add the spartan weaponry mod so you can use the different shields, cause they definitely keep saving you
Hey Shadow, for future reference, the best way to grow melons is by leaving all four sides surrounding them empty as it will allow the melon vine the chance to grow melons on all four of those spots on random ticks. Growing multiple vines right next to each other/right next to other crops with no open spaces around them just leaves less opportunity for more melons to grow!
