you should talk about the elements unleashed mod it was created by one of the original tmodloader creators and it has the sorta canon true final boss to terraria/tmodloader
this mod seems to be really being ported little by little to version 1.4… we are waiting for the great return, like many other mods from version 1.3
(I'm surprised that until now I have not found a single mention of the port of "The Real Final Boss of the tmod ". there aren't even fan-made unofficial ports. Maybe one day I'll have enough willpower to master C# to pull this off…)
There's a lot of mods I can't wait to see when they make big update progress. It's like waiting for a kickstarter, minus the feeling that I've made a terrible investment.

-Shadows of Abaddon -Enigma -Ancients Awakened -Elements Awoken -Split -Spirit -Secrets of The Shadows -Metroid Mod
If you want mods ahead of it's time, I suggest SGA. Some of the visual effects of the mod were ahead of it's time. And if you want to check some bosses with dope mechanics, I suggest AFK's Pets & More in 1.4.4; that mod has a lot of dope concepts for certain items and bosses.

I think the most fun part about this mod is the hardmode bosses. Prehardmode is kind of just building up steam.
