so, Mojang, hire this man and give us the saw (you know we and you have always wanted it)
If mojang actually adds a saw, the only way it could work is a way to customise wooden blocks, so you could carve out 1/8th chunks at a time, so you could make stairs, slabs, vertical slabs, and it would have potential for a lot more detail and something everyone would want ( but mojang would never add this because they barely ever listen to the community )

You know how naturally generated leaves will decay if the wood they're near is destroyed? What if wood was given a "naturally generated" state as well, which would make all logs drop above where a saw is used.

What kind of fool assumes this means the NEXT update will bring the saw?! Shears were introduced in beta 1.7 which came out June 30th 2011, 775 days after the absolute first release of the "early private single-player alpha". The mace made its first appearance in snapshot 24w11a on March 14 2024, 4641 days after the shears… Doing a regression analysis of points (0,0), (1, 775), and (2, 4641) gives us a function of x = 1545.5x^2 – 770.5x. Inserting x = 3 gives us that we will see the saw 11598 days after the original release, or April 1st 2043…
