It is time to talk about this! I am a big fan of Mojang and Minecraft so it is quite odd to see everyone talk about the updates as if they have an understanding of what game development is! It is wild!
I think everyone forgot big stuff and more faster updates were when Mojang still had Minecraft before Microsoft bought Minecraft wich is when the hole mob vote trash came in so don’t blame Mojang blame MICROSOFT
Another thing people have to realize is that the games been done for over a decade we should be happy we’re even getting updates at this point because they could very well just put the game down and be done and they wouldn’t be wrong for it after all the game is finished, it’s been done.
Can we just comment about how he says he’s a “game dev” when it’s a one man team this pisses me off I get some of the points just saying “ughhh making a game is tough” is so stupid they have like shit tone of people on there team to create Minecraft don’t say you get what there going through because your making a game probably one thousand people will play just because you have a following dude shut up
Yeah but you refuted your own argument.i totally get that. But it IS the best selling game EVER. Hell, Terraria has more updates, sure, it's easier, being 2d. But they have WAY less sales. They ARE just being lazy honestly
You have a good point but in the other hand when notch was the dev the risk he made when updating is a lot more than mojang and risky updates is one of the aspects that makes people prefer old Minecraft plus if they do something so bad for the game they could just revert it with a single update or snapshot that's why people got so hyped when the mace was announced we didn't even have a new weapon type since a couple of years.
I still thing Mojang should remake the legacy console minigames. At least putting them on Bedrock’s marketplace as some sort of legacy pack for like 5$.
And also Mojang didn’t make the update they paid a group of devs. So basically mojang hired new “employees” to make the update instead of having the already talented developers make it
As a (very, VERY young) game developer who codes in c# (similar to java) i approve this message. Its taken me about 5 months to get where i am in my game, and its nowhere near ready for release
Ever heard of bedrock edition. Mojang is lazy and unfair hell you couldn’t customize your shield until earlier last year. Bedrock edition doesn’t get April Fools update and the only thing we did get is a cheep ad-on that has not a single thing you mentioned no portals no bosses nothing. Bedrock edition doesn’t even have off hand you can only put a map and a few other items no blocks no tools. The mods Java gets cost money on bedrock edition and those mods are worse. Mojang can kiss my ass goodbye because I’m done and 1000s more feel the same with Mojang’s discrimination against console players

About the devices thing, mojang have to make Minecraft for over 14 devices for a main update, and test each of them
but with the April fools snapshot they test like 3 features and it's only available on java
